ok, first off. if this is in the wrong place please move if needed.

i moved and my wireless connection doesnt work. i changed the name of the network. the SSID i believe. so on my smartphone i just when in and changed the name. on my computer it was almost just as easy. i cant get my ps3 to work. i searched the web and gtp and found some walkthroughs and nothing seems to work. it says that it finds the network, is connected, but when the internet connection test screen shows up it says

obtain ip addy. succeeded
internet connection succeeded
ps network failed

it wont connect. i dont find anything that the network is just down. the ps3 works fine, but it wont connect. help? anyone? thanks in advance.

Is there any way to wire you connection?

Because some times the ps3 will not like the way your connection is and nit allow youth login had the problem if you use easy setting on ps3 and then change your security on the router to allow full connection of your ps3

Sry if it sounds dumb really not good at explaining how to Do it

i dont know if its a maintenence thing or not. i have a roommates friend who was leeching off my internet connection and didnt want to pay so i just changed the name of my non broadcasted connection through logging into my router. that way i figured they wouldnt find it since it is not broadcasted. i went to my phone and changed the name, went to my computer and changed the name. they both work fine. then i go to the playstation and change the name, and it doesnt work. i did the easy and custom setup. and it fails in the same spot. if its the network then fine, but i find it weird it happened at the same time.

edit: i forgot, its been going on since yesterday

Use English, with caps and words and punctuation, and people will know what you're talking about.

To the OP, your PS3 is connecting to your wireless, but not to PSN, it looks like. Can't really tell you why, but the "Internet connection succeeded" means it got through your router.

Oh mine does that quite a bit.one way i found is go onto your network settings, disable your internet and reconnect it. Works when it happens to me. That or your internet is being dodgy but there is no maintenance atm to my knowledge

I have had some small experiences with routers, a better solution would be to add a WPA2 password, or an access list allowing only specific MAC addressees on to the device. I had a similar problem with stupid neighbours getting on my wireless and have used both my methods to great success (including with my PS3 at all times).

Let us know how you go, Regards, Conza
