Help with PSN card. US

I got a PSN card yesterday at Target. On the recept it says activation sucessful, but when i try to redeem it, it says the funds can't be added to my wallet. Is it because my account thinks its not activated?

Possibly. Or it could just be an error. I've had this happen to me before and I think using the psn online might be a good option.

Where do i redeem a card on the psn website?

I'm not sure you can. It's possible (you probably know this) using PS3, one way is via the XMB, another way is via PS Store.

When you bought PSN card, there's no need for activation on the card side, it only contains code that is redeemable online ( similar to online voucher ). All you need to do is sign in on the PS3 with your PSN account, go to XMB account management and choose redeem code. Input the code written on the PSN card and the amount of money as stated on PSN card will added to you wallet.
I often bought PSN card codes online, all I did was input the code via redeem code option. If it does not work, there's only one possibility, the code has been used before or it's invalid.

The card is new though. So it can't be valid.

EDIT: I recieved an error code 80023156. I looked it up and found out i have to wait 24h before redeem.

EDIT2: The card worked, so i bought Burnout Paradise.

Have you tried to input the code via account management on the PS3 ?

I think i got the same code b4. But it was when i first found out PSN went down. What does the error code mean exactly?

Just looked up error code 80023156 and it seems to be an error code caused by changing passwords or restoring accounts. A lot of people have seemed to have this problem. Check this forum out, for people who are having the same exact problem.
