Help with wheel...

I had bought a Driving Force GT and I'm having some trouble with it.

First, is that I never used a wheel before in a game. Then, I don't know how to configure it in the game, like the Driving Aids or the Force Feedback.

I would appreciate some help. Because right now I'm thinking in going back to controller. The cars seem more difficult to control with the wheel and I think that I'm faster with the controller too.

just stick it out i hated mine when i 1st got it but ive shaved massive time off my lap times now! will take you a few days to adjust to it feed back i like it at 5 driving aids is up to you i like everything off and 1 abs

Has anyone figured out what the +/- button and the big orange ring/button do, if anything?
I bought the DFGT wheel for GT5 after years of using the DF wheel on GT3 and 4. No comparison! The force feed back is so much better and the 900 degree wheel give much finer control (but takes some getting used to.)

BTW Fry's had the DFGT for $99.99

Press the Enter button (the big black one inside the red ring) and it opens up a menu to change settings while racing. By default you can change Traction Control, or use +/- to cycle through other settings and spin the red ring to change them.

Wheel vs. DS3 - the key is that with a wheel you can be accurate but you also often have to turn the wheel a long way very quickly in order to correct oversteer. On a controller a quick flick of the stick solves oversteer fast, in a wheel you have to spin it hard sometimes. It's easy to react too slowly and end up weaving all over the place.

In the end, learning to anticipate the car losing control (via force feedback cues), being more smooth, but still able to correct a potential spin will make you a faster driver both in GT5 and also a better driver for real, since you are learning real car control.

I have the GT wheel and also play with the MS wheel for Forza, the GT wheel is by far the better wheel. And the price is perfect.

Now like others have said, give it a more time. Also, just my opinion, is when using a wheel, you have to use a stand of some sort, on the lap is a pain.

If you go into the settings menu you can select your wheel settings (below the controller pics) and adjust your FF and map out buttons.

Good luck and stick with it, you will be back here in a few talking about the wheel and how you can't live without it.

the only thing i hate about using a wheel is getting into reverse quick its a pain to hold triangle and crank the wheel
