My dog is going blind and today when i put in the cream the doctor gave me .His Pupil which you cant see anymore his swollen up and is like solid red the whole eye ball is like red like it is filled with blood since its sunday night no vets are open .Does anyone have an idea of what might be going on.:(:(:(:(:( Im really worried I honestly dont know what to do right now ! please someone tell me what might be going on

Oh god. I would be worried if it was me, but I would just wait until you can ask a vet. It doesn't sound so serious that it would cause permanent damage. Does it seem like it's in pain?
Note that I have no idea and you should take it as if it was serious.

Call your vet even if they're closed. They should have an answering service. Tell them it's an emergency and the vet will call you back. There may even be someone at the office overnight to watch the boarded/hospitalized animals, and that person will call back and tell you to come in.

Good luck.

Yeah, by all means get a vet. There's not much we can do, but that's very important. It's scary when you don't know what's wrong with a pet, because they can't tell you how they feel or anything.

Like Duke said, good luck.

It sounds like his eye may have ruptured..? My Shih-tzu ruptured an eye when he was five and the other one when he was eleven. It's not the end of the world, but get your dog to a vet or animal hospital asap.

I hope you get it taken care of. :nervous:

I don't think the eye ruptured, that sounds a little freaky.

I think maybe a blood vessel ruptured, but not the eye.

well heres the deal i already went to the vet when i started seening the catarax on his eye .he told me that he was fully blind on that eye and that it had an infection he gave me two cream or w/e to put in his eye twice a day this moring his eyeball was swollen tonight it was three times the size of the other eyeball and it was red like the whole eyeball is red no pubil nothing visable just red !Im doing the best i can!

Oddly enough I can be pretty sure it's a broken blood vessel from Family Guy. Neddless to say it's not necessarily true, but it sounds logical.
It doesn't sound like anything has happeed since your last post though.

I dont know hes just laying there sleeping doesnt seem like its bothering him or hurting him hes just as chilled out as always hes not acting funny or anything!

Almost every veterinary clinic has an afterhour's phone line. The charge around here is around $60 for the afterhour's charge plus whatever needs to be done. Get it checked out now. Your dog is worth it.

I just got a hold of My vet after blowing up his phone 7 times .He should be with in the next hr or so.

I suggest taking the dog to an animal doctor and ask them to take your dog in for a few days. Let them figure out the problem, then ask what you can do. It's probably best to leave your dog with some professionals for a few days, then take him back in.

Just remember that emergency animal hospitals will charge you some amazing prices. A couple months ago I had to get a dog from work to one because it was a public holiday and the vets weren't open. It was a simple bite from another dog on the paw, it wasn't serious but was deep enough that I thought it would require stitches. The bill ended up being 1200$ for 3 stitches in the paw. They charged 150$ for the 4 minute consult ("Yes that will require stitches"), 87$ for Bandages, and whatever else they could take out of you.
