i jus(less than an hour) bought a ps3 and gta5 but my game kept freezing at a certain point of the same mission. what can be the problem

Damaged hard drive or a scratch on the disk? Can't think of anything else, really.

Does the PS3 have something like a cache? I know that, on the 360, emptying the cache can help with stuff like this.

But its brand new.....is there anything i can do myself?

Carefully watch the disc, it may be a problem with it...

Have you tried another game? or GTA V is the only one you have?

nope
unless i got con.....but i doubt so since i got it from a reputable store

Still could be damaged from transport. I would suggest looking at the disc and see if there are any scratches then if not then it's most likely the HD.

there isnt any n i even clean the disc with a cloth(for specs)

That doesn't mean that the hardware can't be damaged, just as the disk could potentially scratched despite being new.

I think it's an issue from the disc, to be honest, but try taking a look at this and this and see if you have any such issues. :)

If so - or not - a deletion of the gamedata (NOT the savegame) might help, but I can't say for sure though.
