ok i just got GT3 a while ago and my first car is a way souped up PT cruiser (bad coice? :() and i have about 20,000 credits..i can not win anything with my pt besides the Super Speedway races...i need a new car. What car should i get? im thinkin i save up for a BMW or a Benz.....got any other good cars that are (semi) cheap?

You should go do the Time Trials first. You will get a very nice car in your garage when your done, (esperante GT1) and you will also learn to drive better. Im not sure, as i don't remember, but if you get a car/s for doing arcade races, then complete those on hard (it will clear all 3 lvls) and viola! The esperante you get for time trials is really awesome, sounds and looks great, not to mention its fast and handles well. Plus with only 1 upgrade it will be able to take you through all most all of the game (albeit races that need special cars, or races that you can't enter, or the GT all stars in professional. well you could win the last one with the eperante, but its difficult) but everything your golden! and when your done, sell that *****! sweeeeet money

on a side note, DAMN this is hillareous!
YES HE'S SAYING YOU SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :whip::bawling:
hehe joking...
why don't you 2 just kiss and make up :couple:

yes that would be one way, but exactly how hard is it for a newbie to win the Time Trial mode?

well, that's why i said it would ALSO teach him to drive better. yes it might take a while, but the benefits would outway the time. not to mention, when he gets near the end, he won't go OH ****!!!!!!!!!!! and break his head on the walls like most do when they want to complete the game 8)

Welcome to the forum. As you can probably see, specific car choices bring out a lot of debate. That's one of the coolest things about this game, though, I think; there are so many choices different people have different favorites which work best for them. You might just want to try out some on the Free Run portion in Arcade mode.

Anyway, I like the Miata as a first car. It's a light, rear wheel drive, well handling car, and you already have a front drive car in the PT thing (you can probably tell my bias, too). It's somewhat underpowered, but you can buy some upgrades depending on how you do.

And, yes, the front drive Integra and RWD Trueno are good too. Maybe try both and some others on a track and see which consistently gets better times for you.

Try not to go nuts and just overpower the AI cars in each race. I think that takes most of the excitement out of the game. Also, when you get in races where the cars are more equal, it can be frustrating. So try to learn the tracks and cars well enough to win the races without resorting to having 400 more HP than the other cars. (Some people tend to do that).

Hope this helps.

Well, yes. Go save up $$$, buy one of the Subaru Impreza's, and max that sucker out. Then go race all of the Rally Races. That will get you a TON of money if you win them all, and they're really easy.

If you can buy/afford one of the Rally edition one's, go for it. If you can't, just buy a regular Impreza, but not that station wagon one...:D

I'm glad we're all different. Or else, the whole game would just have had about 5 cars.

the beginner car (miata?, trueno?, pt cruiser?, vitz?)
the "second car" (type r car, lancer, impreza, mustang?)
the "moving on to amateur" car (surely an LM car by now :) )
the "now we're getting somewhere" car (686?, viper?, ESCUDO???)
the "as good as it gets" car (f1?, "insert your pick here")

It's rather weird, because people are ragging down on others because they drive that car, or don't like that other car.

Remember, it's all good cars, just bad drivers! :D

I highly recommend against saving up to buy the BMW or Mercedes. For a little less, you could get the Corvette Z06, which is one of the best cars you can buy for under $100K. But instead of that, I'd recommend you buy the Lancer Evolution VII RS for only a cheap $25,000 or so. This car can compete in the 4WD cup, Turbo Cup, Evolution Meeting, and the Rally races. Also, you might not want to get rid of your PT Cruiser just yet, as it can win the Stars and Stripes Cup with the right tuning. I did this and won a Camaro, which along with my Lancer were my workhorses to carry me through the Beginner League. This can also win the FF Cup, which awards (I think) a Vitz. You will need one for the Vitz Cup, which, money wise, is one of the most rewarding events in the Beginner League

wow, archy you left out a good one,you left out a 3000 gt(not 93 model) with the right stuff it can climb up to 250 mph and win you alot of money at test tracks and others.this is my opinion.
