High-performance car tuner John Hennessey is bringing his Venom GT sports car--the marriage of a lightweight Lotus two-seater with a ground-pounding V8 from the Chevy Corvette ZR1--to this year's SEMA show in Las Vegas.

Hennessey takes the 6.2-liter V8 from the Corvette, adds a pair of turbochargers and sets up the package to crank out 1,200 hp and 1,155 lb-ft of torque. Combined with the chassis from the Lotus Exige, the car weighs in at 2,685 pounds--or 2.2 pounds per horsepower.

Hennessey plans to build just 10 copies of the car per year. The engines are built up at the company shop in Texas, then sent to England to be matted with the car.

The Venom GT also gets Brembo brakes with six-piston calipers front and four-pot rear. The rotors are carbon ceramic. The car will ride on Michelin PS2 tires and have a six-speed gearbox.

They did a really good job with that thing.

No worries. We've all made bad threads in our lifetime.

I can't take it down. You'll have to contact a moderator to get this thread closed.

Looks good, but how it handles?

I hear many bad stories with Hennessey and tuned Corvettes, bad handling, braking up, malfunctions , and blowing up just by looking at them.. well blowing up part is the made up one.
