Yeah, I see where youre coming from(same as in Spanish). The verb is is conjugated in third person but the point of view is in first person. The difference is a literary distiction vs a grammatical distinction. First person point of veiw in English has to remain consistent throughout the sentence but the verbs can conjugate according to the subject

Gotta ya! Sorry to correct you.

That is exactly what they're asking you to do; more likes/subscribers equal more views & money.

Well, not quite: asking for donations would be exactly the same as... asking for donations. :p

Asking people to like/subscribe isn't changing the viewer's bank balance. I don't subscribe to much on YouTube, but channels I do enjoy, I do. I figure if they're consistently putting out content that I appreciate, it's the least I can do to ensure that continues. And as we've put more work into GTPlanet's own video content, I have a newfound appreciation for exactly how much goes into these things.

You can disagree all you want. Someone telling you to like their videos and subscribe wants you to do it b/c the end game is that you generate money for them doing so.

Not that I ask for likes and subscribes on my page but if I did, it would purely be for some acknowledgement that my videos are being watched and enjoyed. I have 7 subscribers, is that going to make me money?

I suggest you read the rest of that post before you edit it to support your point.

Well, it wasn't intended as a criticism, it's your content you can do what you want with it.

Thanks for the replies, very interesting. I understand the desire to make it inclusive, also the dialect angle.

Not that anyone should care, but here's my thoughts on it:

A footballer watching a replay of his or her own actions with the commentator after the match would be weird in saying "we've taken the ball well, we've gone past one there, then another and then we've curled it into the top corner". That's why I find it odd.

In terms of "we're" on a journey as a community I'm on board. But then I would go with - during the replay commentary - "I've decided not to challenge here as they still have to pit and that's only going to lose both of us speed by getting into a pointless fight, so I've hung back" and then later after the race eg "so all in all a good race, we've moved up to DR S which was the goal of this series and now we can see if the battles in S-S are cleaner and suit us more than those demolition derbies in DR-A and B".

Like I said just an observation. These creators are always saying "if you have any feedback throw a comment below..." so, there you go. My comment.

I think this is up there with the pettiest of threads to be honest, It comes down to personality most of the time, plain and simple. Different people will have different views on this.

Petty - meaning of little importance? Well, no disrespect to every single person here but this is a computer game. None of it has any importance or meaning, does it? We're not exactly tackling world poverty in every other thread, right?

Anyway, it's just an observation, as I stated. I agree with you, different people have different views and we've seen that demonstrated in the responses to my observation. Look at all of us (including you btw) wallowing in our own pettiness. =)

The only thing I really ask for in my videos is if you dislike the video to let me know what you disliked, I hate seeing a thumbs down and no comment to explain it! It's like... I've just spent 3-6 possibly even 10 hours on a video or not being able to do anything other than the video and you just disliked it! Help the creator improve constructive criticism is good :)!

Also I saw something mentioned about money, unless your hauling 6 figure subscription numbers you aren't earning anything/much at all :p. In fact if you take into account the time, effort and cost of items and storage etc. I'd be earning probably 0.0000001p an hour or something :D
