hi i just got my ps2 on thursday and the first game i got was gt3. i was wondering if u guys could help me. i just started and i have a miata and a trueno i won in the sunday cup. i was wondering if there was a way to earn money faster that doing the sunday cup over and over again...
 
You'll be able to enter the FR challenge with the Trueno. That will give you better cash. I'm not sure, but I think you can win that with no upgrades to the Trueno.
 
Welcome first off, if want a cheap way to win do the first enduro until you get the Indy car, races are easy then. Of course you will have to get cars for specific races but you know...
 
Hello, painkiller, and welcome to GTPlanet.

Take the Miata and buy a set of T2 racing slicks for it - no other mods necessary. Then get your first license so you can run the Enduros. Take the Miata to the Roadster Enduro and run it, pitting once around lap 20. For that race you'll earn 100,000 credits and maybe a Formula 1 car (not an Indy car; there aren't any in the game). Sell the F1 car if you win it, becuase using it for the rest of the races will teach you a ton of bad driving habits.

Some other advice: change the oil on every new car you win or buy before you ever drive it. 5% extra power for 250 credits. Also, search for "save and reload" for a great trick to use in series races.

Welcome. The Miata is a good starting car, and will carry you through many races. With a stage 1 turbo and other upgrades, it can be a beast!
 
Hello there!

First off, quick question: which miata did you buy? The really cheap one is actually better than the 17k one, for some reason... After that, Duke's advice about the Miata enduro is the best way to start off rich. You'll have to get pretty far in the licences (ia for any enduro, I think), but the practice you get there will really pay off in the race. From there, you can upgrade your Miata enough to win basically the entire beginner league, and into the ameteur league. Personally, I'd suggest that you get into rallying as soon as you can. There are lots of great cars to be won there, even if you just sell them for cash.

If you think you're really good at this game after the miata enduro, I'd take the 100k and get a TVR tuscan. It'll be able to take the PD cup in Pro league (stock car only, just tires and oil change allowed) as well as the TVR cup (only minor mods necessary). If you can get those two down, you'll have all the money you need, plus a couple cars that only belong in the professional league. But, you'll have to get an S licence to do all this.

well actually im good at the game to begin with... i have gt2 and i have all the licences except for the super one. i havent tried the a licence yet but the b one was easy and i have all the tests except for the last on on the really licence. i bought the 17,000 dollar miata because i liked the clolors better and i just sold that because i won the miata ls...
 
Miata is an excellent car. I would recommend the Trueno though, as it teaches better driving habits. Early cars you win like the Vitz and the MR-S also can be used in a variety of races later in the game. Also, if you want to be cheap, you can use the Acura Integra Type R in the American races and teh Type R races...

yes... the other miatas didnt have colors i wanted... i want my car too look good also. once u buy a car ur stuck with the color unless u want to buy a new one so i pick a color that i like...
 
Its not like he has a bad car or what not.

I've had it were I'll win a car when I can easily buy it, simply cause I don't like the colors you can buy it in.

He is playing the game to have fun, not to be ultra efficent... if he wanted to do that, he woulda just golded the B and A exams and spanked the world with hte RX-8 :S

...which is:

Skip race one. Win the remaining races. Save the game at the end of the second to last race. You'll enter the last race, which you skip. Reload the PS2, enter the last race, and then skip it. Keep doing this until you get the car you desire.

Have patience! This can take 20 - 25 tries, from personal experience.

hey guys I'm new too, Been a GT2 player for ages though... Bought my PS2 today (finally) and of course GT3.. so.. miata or trueno for a starting car? which can take you farther or get you money faster? I started off with the trueno.. any tips would be awesome :D

Grab the Miata, you can do so many more races with that I think. I can't remember, it's been bloody ages since I started GT3...
 
lol every1 is saying get the miata.. i'm too lazy to start over so i'll get one through the license tests.. a few hours in the game.. couldn't get all gold on B cuz i'm late for work XD have the last one to do for B so i have all gold on that... Then i'll probobly just do all gold on A and have some fun with the RX-8 =D
 
i reccomend the miata. u can do the sunday cup, clubman series, the fr series, the roadster cup, and the na series. i just bought the 3000gt vr 4 yesterday. i really worked for that one. its 43,000 dollars and i only make around 5000 dollars a race.. now im working on money to tune it...
 
i have a question regarding tires. i have a 3000gt and i was wondering what type of racing tires to buy it. i was thinking of the t4 medium ones... also do tires wear down in regular races or only during enduros like in gt2.
 
Usually, I'll just say T2 super-slicks. They'll last at least 15 laps when tire wear's on. Tire wear comes into play for some of the am. league, all of the pro league, and all of the enduros. It isn't in the beginner or rally leagues. If you get anything softer than T3 or T4, you'll be having to pit a lot more. Last time I used Mediums (T5?), I was running a 5-7 lap pit schedule, as I recall.

I think that normal tires arent far off from sport tires, i feel it is best to save for slicks. weight reduction and cluthes are also nice mods.
 
Sports will burn off after a couple of laps under hard driving... Its like being on ice. I remember racing an RX-8 stock in the amatuer FR race... and the tires just melted it felt like :S

It's definitely better to save for slicks. The T2's will last much better than the sports, and they have better grip. Weight reduction isn't all that great, cause it gets a bit expensive quick. I'd say that the tires, suspension, then surprisingly, the flywheel are the first mods to get. Then head for chip/exhaust. The flywheel may not seem like the best upgrade, but it gives you a huge advantage by cutting down shifting time. It'll get you much better acceleration times.
 
game is driving me insane T_T trying for all gold on B licence and it seems like B8 itself is taking longer than all the other ones combined.... .030 off from gold... dammit...
 
hey, the miata you win in clubman cup is the "good" one right? Just slap some T2's and run the enduro? (how many laps btw?)

Why skip race one? The first race is usually an easy one. I don't get it.

And, painkiller, the Roadster Enduro is 40 laps of Apricot Hill. It'll take you about an hour an a quarter.
 
Roadster enduro is crazy easy if you have done your S-license. The S-3 test is a lap of trial mountain in a Mazda MX-5. I worked at this to get gold, then bought the same model MX-5, made no changes except to fit medium-hard tyres, and won the Roadster enduro by 3 clear laps.
 
i bought the cheapest miata and slapped on T2's and it's just not fast enough for the enduro.. gets owned... royally... are there any mods you can do to the miata before you take it to race?
