got any handy hints dood?
Hmmm...
Don't take any wooden nickels?
Seriously though, I think the most important thing I have found to help as a DS2 twiddler is giving more suspension movement than with GT3 and running softer bound/rebound. The thing that seemed to be killing me the most was the "twitchyness" of the faster cars and especially as that relates to loading and unloading the suspension as the roads undulate. As I have started to work out setups to "smooth" that out, I am finding a vast improvement in my times. I guess that would physically translate to where I used to run 5 clicks over the bottom setting, I am now running 10-20 clicks over depending on the track. Where I used to run bound rebound at 8, I now run them at 6.
Another thing I have started doing that has helped a bunch is running lower final gearing along with stretching out my gears in the autoset. The resolution on the accelerator button is not near what I would assume a pedal would be and this seems to help to not overpower hitting the gas out of corners. I run with a little less "getup and go" but am able to manage my momentum better if that makes sense.
Whatever you do to keep you from countersteering will help. With a DS2 that seems to set up a spin nearly every time (especially on undulating tarmac). It's like an over-reaction thing and once it starts... forget it. Take the fence.
Maybe one of the other more important things I have done is to learn to look farther down the road. I know it sounds silly but, GT4 visually is really bouncy and it causes me to unnaturally react on the stick. By looking further down the road (especially on tracks like Nurburgring and El Capitan and the like) and focusing my attention there, I find myself doing less corrective measures on the stick and thus am able to run a straighter/faster line with less management of the car with my thumb. Point being:
Only twiddle when it's time to twiddle
Nearly every one of my setups I seem to prefer running -1 toe in the rear.
The good news Ving is I can personally attest the game is winnable with a DS2...

And the second time is just as much fun if not more-so! I'm finding the b-spec thing a blast as well. 👍
If I think of more that helps me with the DS2, I will post them. Hope this is helpful to you.
EDITS:
1) Racing the Opel Speedster races taught me more in 20 minutes about GT4 racing lines and braking than anything else... no holds barred.
2) I have discovered with the DS2 that understeer is my friend in every instance except the stupid Super Speedway.
3) Twiddling technique I am employing more and more is "wrist twist" with locked thumb joints on the stick on the straighter sections and "thumb twiddle" on the slower cornering sections.
