Hi all,

I recently did a reformat/reinstall on my computer. Before I did this, i always hibernated my pc as it boots quicker. It seems that i cannot anymore. In the dropdown shutdown menu, hibernate is greyed out.

Does anyone know why this is?

Control Panel > Power options > Hibernate tab > Click "enable hibernation"

Oh man. I bloody knew that too!! I kept thinking it was something else. How did I miss it?!!!

Thanks daan 👍

*edit*
This is regarding my home PC, so i'll check it out when I get back. I'm pretty sure it will solve my problem, but I may be back as I would have thought that it would be checked as default.

What's the difference between standby and hibernate?

Hibernate saves your session into hard disk. This mode consumes less power than standby.

Standby saves your session into memory. This mode restores your session quicker than hibernate.
