Hiding my computer from the router/network?

I need some help... I know about computers, but the network side of it is frustrating for me...

Anyways, I have a Belkin Wireless N router. (this one). It works fine, but as soon as I connect to it, the wireless light turns on.

Would hiding my computer from the network cause the light to stay off? If not, does anybody have any ideas how I could make the light to stay off?

I think there is no true way to hide a computer in a network. To do that you'd have to mask the MAC address with another computer's(though it's not permanently set since each computer and network device have their own unique MAC address) and change the IP address. There is actually a service online you can use called proxy's. It will let your computer look like another computer in a totally different location but you will be putting a lot of reliance on the proxy's speed(Since you are relying on a computer that might be slower and based in China for example).

But I'm getting myself too excited. It seems that you want to turn the wireless light off? Hiding your computer would not turn the light off. It is a rather ghetto solution but just put tape over the LED. Nothing too troublesome and you don't have to touch the electronics in the router. You could turn the LED's off in the web setup if it is an option but I would not find that possible.

No router ever would allow software configuration of the lights.

Open it up and take em out.
