The "congratualtions" ad is right in front of me atm. No hijack whatsoever though, thanks to my old buyy, the Netscape browser :D

LOL, no no... I didn't get the hijacking either, yet!

Just varifying with everyone what I saw everytime the 'jacking' happened.

Sorry If anyone was confused by this, I didn't really explain myself well as I was in a rush at the time. :sly:

I'm sorry, but it's been happening again the last 2 days. :(

Same procedure as last time. This time the Pop-up box says something like: "we have detected porn and viruses on your PC. You'll lose your job, wife and family, if you don't ...." :grumpy:

I click the cancel button and is taken to dk_slash_drivecleaner_dot_com.

Same procedure as last time, but just another company (at least by name).

Luckily the hijack is much slower this time and I have prevented it several times, by rapidly clicking another link at the Planet. When I look at the "Go back pop down menu" it states:

gtplanet.net/ads/fastclick_7

Don't know, if that'll be any help?

And YES I have checked both my desktop and laptop for viruses, both with my own scanner and with Panda. And NO, it's not happening on other sides. ;)

Don't click the "Cancel" button. You're basically clicking the ad when you do that.

Just close it like any normal window (via the close [x] button).

Some spyware ads like "Winfix" or "WinPro" will infect you even more if you click on that "X" at the top right corner of the ad. What you should do is to disconnect from the internet and then click on the x. I know it sounds like a rudimentary procedure, but it's the safest way.

Ciao!

Thanks a lot guys. You are all very right. 👍

I have seen far worse redirections and hijack other places, and in this case it is pretty easy to close the browser window and start all over again.

But it IS an annoyance and I know it's very much against Jordan's policy to allow such aggressive advertising at the Planet.

So basically I'm just trying to point out a problem with the ads, in the vain hope that something can be done in the other end than mine. ;)
