Hill Climb Racing (Android/iOS)

Anyone else played this little gem? Shades of Trials mixed with a dash of Joe Danger perhaps, also put me in mind of 8-bit games I owned as a kid on the ZX Spectrum and C64 such as Kickstart and ATV Simulator.

Note that the game has been updated several times since, and there are tons more vehicles and levels to choose from. Also the learning curve to me felt excellent, the levels seem vast and you always want to go that little bit further. If the levels do end at some point, you can just try them in a less suitable vehicle

Oh boy, what an addictive little game. It's the sort of thing along with Parking Mania that's crying out for an XBLA/PSN port instead of the usual kooky indie platformer tosh.

I talked highly of this game in the smart phone thread. But I truly think this game needs a thread of its own for sure.

I don't play my phone games very often but when I do, this is the first game I go to. I have played this game more on my phone than any other game. It even has a little blue WRX in the game. Make sure you save up for the moon map. That is so much fun. LOTS of air time!

Yup the moon and something light like the bike is perfect for racking up coins. Oddly I was just playing it and I swear the little dude actually fell off the bike, without hitting his head? Or did I imagine it?

Maxed out Tank is the best thing. My absolute record is 7500m in the Highway.

Diesel 4x4 (I think, eh, it's the lifted dodge ram), dirt bike or quad bike, modded + the moon = mad dosh $$$$$

Try the kiddie express, seriously. I have mine maxed out. The cars will break off after a while leaving only the engine and it really moves and has a ton of gas. It's a little tricky at slower speeds because it will constantly want to flip but you can get the hang of it pretty easily.

The tank for me is best. I lost because I attempted a backflip, which wasn't... well... succeful

Reached not exactly an impasse but a point where the progress/coins balance isn't so hot, though in part because I am persisting with the Xmas level with the tractor, it's the only vehicle I have that can deal with those stupid trees and even then it always comes across one it can't trample on some slope. Upgrading it but I think I need to just aim for more coins to unlock further levels and vehicles (I have the jeep, bike, tractor and a maxed-out race car, all levels unlocked up to Mars)

Nice to see a thread for this little game, I've been playing it on toilet breaks or while cooking meals since it pretty much came out, have every vehicle maxed except the kiddie express.

The vehicle I usually got furthest in on all but the cave levels was the diesel 4x4, but since the dragster came out, that's set new records for me. Beach and Highway are the only two places that I've managed more than 10000 meters though.

Recent update added a Junkyard stage, which is fun. I like the way every stage and pretty much every vehicle has something unique about it. I do sometimes wish there was a save or checpoint system though, especially on the longer/easier levels.

Anyone know when the stages end? I thought 10,000 metres but looking at some of the posts above, it would seem not.

I think they use an logarithm that plots out the course, to theoretically they could be an infinite length.
