'Hire' A Test Driver

I might put up my own Amuse S2K, get a review and maybe start my own tuning garage based on feedback, what do we think?

 as if i wont be busy enough already as it is

Do you have any idea how hard that would make running the Garage Showdowns? We would need a new form of tournament to simplify the organisation process. Or perhaps put all garages in the same races, and just have the 2 races like the first time.

I didn't plan on entering any competitions, I doubt my own abilities again :scared:
Just do a few tunes every so often was my plan.

EDIT: My S2K Runs about 2.01-2.02, nothing to compare it to though, good or bad?

Just finished the Clio review, apolagies for my anti Clio comments  But i do dislike that Clio, you'll see what i mean, great set up though.

ROFL! I had a sneaky go in this when he put the car in for the paintjob and I said exactly the same thing - great tune/crap car :sly:

 I'm having second thoughts on my S2K, cocky as it sounds it just seems so good in comparison to whats being thrown at me today.
Just ran 6'27, 6'26, 6'26 and 6'28 online without ever being above 4th on the grid. Nice way to win 180,000cr though.

Sorry Drago, was that on fuji 600 or suzuka 750 ?
If suzuka 750, it's good enough to get the podium most races, for 600 fuji it seems a bit slow. (but i've only driven the stock viper at fuji, runs around 1:57 the others(gtp-drivers/tuners) seem a second or two faster.

Thought i'd give you some roundtime feedback, i don;t like to run myself without having a clue whether i'm fast or snailing down.

That's a very good time. You are a pretty fast driver, you should give yourself more credit. My Corvette only just brakes into 2'02. My S2K is in the 2'03s. That's all in my hands though.

Yeah, that's fast for Suzuka. I nailed a mid-2.01.xx in the Tuned Viper in Free Run right before the events got changed. I wish I had done it in the Time Trial instead. I only hit into the the 2.01's once, but I can run consistent 2.02/2.03's in the car.

In my opinion, the S2K is capable of being a little faster in the right hands. That 7th gear really helps! I hit a high-2.02.xxx in the S2K a couple of times but I feel like I am driving the car all wrong. With a better driver than myself, the S2K could probably slide into the 2.00.xxx's without a whole lot of effort. I just can't get used to the handling and I think this is because of the 50/50 weight ratio. Because of this, I am still wiping out a lot when I push the car too hard. (I keep driving it like I would the Viper/Vette.) Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like I should be driving the S2K more like I would the Elise to be fast. Too bad I don't really car for the Elise either...in GT5 at least.

I don't like the online events that force us to use S2 tires so I am going to sit this series out and play Live For Speed for a week or two until the events go back to normal. My driving skills in GT5 will probably be ruined for a few days when I return because the two sims feel so different. :ouch: I'm disappointed that I have so many great cars now...and I can't run 'em. Furthermore, I am not going to waste my time practicing and tuning for all the S2 events because I have a feeling they won't last long.

I will do a few car reviews once I a get a couple of days off. 👍

Yes, yes it can :sly: popped mine down in free run at a 2'00.7XX, I changed my line coming through the esses as i found with the R3s (a problem i don't have with S2s) i often carried to little speed.

I'll post it up in a few minutes.

RVT Amuse S2000 GT1
749PP - Suzuka - Power: 541PS - Torque: 443ft-lbs - Weight: 952KG

My first offering as a sort of test before opening up my own tuning garage, Red Venom Tuning (RVT).

Description
It obvious from the outset this car was made for one thing, speed, and that theme has never been lost in my vision, but i specialise in lighter less powerful cars that handle better at the cost of reduced straight line grunt. This was the code i followed when creating this, things have drastically changed in the suspension to improve handling and hopefully make the car more drivable. Anyway here goes. With different power - weight settings it could probably hold its own on other tracks to.
Note: Launch in second gear and with correct throttle application, launch nearly as fast as an AWD Mines BNR34.

I will give your car a shot and post a review as soon as I get some free time. (Mon/Tue)

Quick question as I am not comfortable in the S2K...

Do you find that the S2K grips the apex better under throttle? (Like going into T-1 Suzuka) To be more specific, when I lift, I am more likely to spin. When I go through more aggressively, I have a better chance of making the section without as much drama.

Do you ever successfully trail-brake or lift in a turn? (Like Spoon)

I find that the S2K drives completely different than other RWD cars.

All the real teething problems have been fixed with my tune at least, it all works well for me and you can belt it through turns like 200R full throttle from the hairpin to spoon. You can lay off the throttle completely and literally roll round turns without any drama as well, just don't get to throttle happy to early and you'll find you can hit the gas quite early on if you're on a good line.

So how about a head-to-head-to-head-to-head review of the Vipers used in the Garage Showdown and Dodge Viper SRT10 Cup?

Lol, maybe you'll get one but L-Tunes offering needs amending and possibly a big overhaul.

EDIT: Going away for a couple days, you guys will have to sort yourselves out with whatever as i can't access GTP when i'm away. Have fun.

If you're lucky, if i do the individual sections won't be large or it'll take the 🤬 to do. And won't be til after the Showdown for obvious reasons.

Good work. Just point out the major advantages and disadvantages of each vehicle briefly and compare them, who is fastest, who made a more controllable tune etc etc. (I won't get most controllable, I have rear toe-out ;) )
