I know this has been asked before, but I'm a newmouse, sorry!

I'm trying the Historic Car cup, with a Toyota 7 '70. But it feels like it's driving on ice! I'm on racing mids, and it cannot put any power down. I keep exiting corners at ridiculously slow speeds. Any ideas?

Settings? Try some driving aids.

Disregard that.

Driving aids are useful for you if you need them, but they won't help you improve your driving abilities so that you can handle cars entirely on your own. If you want to let the game hold your hand, that's fine. That's what the aids are there for. If you want to get better, leave the aids off.

Try this instead:

i used the same car in that series. try to max the downforce and lower the top speed by 20-40km/h for better acceleration out of the corners.

Add a 50kg rear ballast to put the power down, worked for a lot of people, you can drop times by 3-5 seconds by lap.
