I know most people use the Toyota 70 racing car to beat this series, just wondering if anybody have used other cars for this race and had success, I'm trying to do all the aspec races before doing any b spec this time around.

The Chaparral 2J should do it just fine. I think that's what I used.

In a-spec, it's possible with a fully modded '74 Countach or the '69 Camaro LM, or any of the cars you normally see on the grid.

This is my favorite race using the RM '69 camaro, but as said above, any of the opponents cars are fully capable to win.

I used the Cobra prize car. I tuned it to ~715HP and then had to really drive my thumbs off (MT, 1 ABS, no other aids) to keep that thing ahead and in the road, as it is SO DAMN twitchy.

It was a big challenge keeping the Toyota 7 behind, surprisingly more so than the 2Js and 66 Jags. To be more precise I faced off against 2 Toyota 7s and 2 2Js. In the last 2 laps I really had to work the track to keep the Toyota behind.

Damn, I tried the cobra and couldn't keep it in the road, that's pretty impressive. I'll try out the countach and the camaro next. This is definately one of the best races in the game, one of the few that you actually have to try different cars out and not just slap a couple mods on any car and destroy the competition. I wish more of the series were like this.

I used the 2j, it had enough pickup for my horrible driving.👍
I used it on Kote D Azur, the other course was cake with any historic car.

These cars are capable of winning this championship but you need a lot of skill.
If you can't win with these then do the Indy 500 (which is unlocked at level 29), win it and you'll get a Jaguar XJ13, or do B-Spec, get to level 22 and gold Like The Wind and you'll get a Toyota 7 '70 which is the best car you can use for this championship (next to Chapparal 2J) - or just buy a Ferrari 330-P4, Ford MkIV or Jaguar XJ13 for 20000000 Cr.
The B-Spec however is a totally different story, you will need Chapparal 2J for it because a driver under level 30 can't drive a Toyota 7 and the other cars aren't able to catch up with Chapparal 2J on Cote d' Azur.

ASpec I used the 74 Countach fully modded with a wing using my own setup(there are tuning guide threads you could check). It wasn't easy by any means but consistent laps and patience should win it for you.

Same here. Monaco was far easier than Deep Forest; An XJ13 span and blocked the rest of the field for half a lap and that made life much easier. Forest was a very tough task, especially with the Cobra.

Used the 7 for B-Spec though and Bob still had difficulties. Special needs kid.

There are a lot of threads on this subject. However just to mention if you want a real challenge use the 60's vette that's also in the lineup. You'll need to perfectly tune it and even then it's hard as hell. But a meaningful victory. This only works for aspec though, unless all the other racers in your b-spec matches wreck :).
