:)Very depressed with last challenge. I've hit a wall at 1.33.3 and cant break through. Ok I've got laryngitus and have been in bed sick, but it's actually given me more time during day to practice and tackle 8-5, but it's all to no avail. I just cant break through my time.

My problem is bends 1, 2 and the chicane. I can't carry enough speed through the chicane and that's where I lose the Top ghost. I've got most others bends sorted and can even catch ghost slightly at points but it is not enough.
I have been very close to the ghost on maybe 3 occassions after chicane and then blown it on last 2 bends:nervous:
Tidgneys excellent guide confirmed my problem but i still couldn't get there.

Getting depressed is Stupid I know.
I'm feeling less sick today maybe that will help for a final push this weekend.

Good luck everyone for last couple of days

You need to be in the proper state of mind. I tried to set some times after I had a couple of beers and even though I was only slightly buzzed my times were off. Same thing if you are sick. But to be honest, don't take this the wrong way, if you are at a 1:33.3 then your true problem is likely your technique (pedal and steering application and your line). Don't watch the top time, watch number 10 and try to work from there.

I know how you feel, have golded all of them apart from 8.5, my est time at the mo is 1.32.003 so I'm really peed off! Gonna keep going until the last minute and I will get gold!

I did a mid 32 last week, I was in a nice groove but felt like taking a break. Im actually waiting until saturday to sit down and do a huge run to see if I have what it takes. I can hit a low 32 or high 31 without doing the 2nd to 3rd upshift thing, so hopefully when I get that down I will have a chance.

Funny, I didn't see any brick wall on Twin Ring Motegi.

Sorry, sorry, I haven't done well on it either, to be honest. I haven't even golded it yet.

I had been gaining pretty steady every time I sat down to set a time, until now. On Tuesday I went from a 1:32.4xx, to 1:32.2xx, to a 1:32.0xx. The last two days I've struggled to get a 1:32.1xx.

Pretty disappointed that it's been 2 days with no improvement, it's looking like my chances are shot. It blows my mind how badly the ghost pulls me through that first chicane. I'm right on him until he hits the apex of turn 4 and then it's like his turbo spools up or something, all while I've already got the throttle matted.

I got under the second bridge right at 0:45.00 ONE time yesterday as Tidgney does in his tutorial, which was a record lap for me by far as the toughest part for me so far has been the first 5 turns. Then I clipped the cones on the exit of the second chicane. Haven't been able to come anywhere close again.

Set active steering to strong.

At the start of the lap, just before the stretch, move to the extreme left then down shift to 2nd to rotate the car. As the car starts to point strait, upshift to 3rd and floor it.

In the left turn, before the chicane, you need to try to exit at full throttle, then upshift to 4th, before chicane.

Try to focus your eyes on the cones at the apex, not the apex itself.

Try different ghosts. Some ghosts pull you up better than others.

Don't forget to unwind the streering as you accelerate.

Good luck (we all need it)

The first thing I did was to download the #10 fastest ghost lap. There are things the #1 drivers do that I just can't comprehend. At least I can still see #10 by the end of the lap. What I noticed that in most of the curves (all exept the last two) I was downshifting to 2nd gear and the ghost driver was only shifting down to 3rd. This gives you a little more speed after braking. When in second, although you let off the brakes, second is still winding you down a bit and you lose some time before you get back on the gas.

I drove all events with only ABS set to 1, all other assists off. I never did this before, but once I got used to it, it really helped. I bareley got gold, but if I had more time to spare I'm sure I could have shaved off more.

Another point that was made by someone on another thread was to concentrate on the curves that lead into the straights. Hit them carefully as to come out clean with as much power as possible. At first I was trying to hard to power through every curve, but when I started taking those particular curves a bit slower, the speed I attained in the straight more than made up for it.

Good Luck!

I'm pretty satisfied with my time of 1:32.301, though I'd like to improve more. However even if I do magically reach the top 32, it won't be any use since Pakistan isn't in the list of eligible countries :( sucks!
P.S just joined this community because the local forum pakgamers.com does not seem to have any simulation racing enthusiasts :/

Your right on that Paskowitz:) I felt much better yesterday and immediately bettered my time a little.

Turning the Ghost off really helped as it was distracting and just making me nervous. I bagged a 132.904 with it off so much happier today. Reckon I can get a low 1.32 and wishing for any 1.31:) tonite. It's all about the chicane.

Thanks everyone for the advice and encouragement it helped a lot.

Stick at it for the last few hours guys you never know what can happen. :)

The only place where I lose time is on the first turn. That costs me about a second or two

Great advice.

The bumper view is my camera-view of choice, but I end up hitting cones, even though in my view it doesn't seem like i'm going to hit them. With the hood-view I can get extremely close to the cones without hitting them, but the car seems to slide more. My brick wall is 1:33:6 with a DS3, ABS-1, other aids off.

yeh good advice thanks.
did only the last 25 mins on last day and got a 1.32.6

Cos I'm such a noob to the PS3 it was only after competition closed did i realise there was settings to change the wheel FF strength, power steering and a simulation setting:sick:

Much easier to drive with full FF and Simulation. I Wouldn't make it final or any thing but could now get a 1.31:dopey:
