:eek: Can that happen? I mean does the forum software have a limit for number of replys in a thread?

Id still prefer having no postcount I mean Ive been here for a little while and there are people who have been here for like a month and they have like double my posts.

I don't think the vBulletin board has a posts per thread limit, but after a few billion more posts the server might run out of free megs... :D
 
What the server crashed cuz of a big thread?
or they had a limit of replies set on threads?

No, there is no limit, although it does strain the server when displaying posts from that thread (which is why it takes longer to load than all the others).
 
I think it should stay. It is listed under the Chit Chat Catagory and thats what it was intended for (Chit Chat). In the past members wanted to just chat back and forth and that was and still is the place to do it. We had ask Jordan about making or implementing an instant chat of some sort but it was not possible. So we just used that thread to chat.

I personally don't use it anymore but I think it should remain for future use in that way. I do feel that it should maybe be split to reduce the time it takes to refresh the thread.

As far as the spaming in that thread, GTPlanet does not support spaming in any thread in GTPlanet! It all goes back to the saying:

"Are you getting ready to post a degrading, harsh, or downright stupid comment?
Think before you speak! GTPlanet is only as good as you make it."​
 
i find this forum very slow to load and that thread even slower, which is why i stay out of it.

an IRC channel would be nice, and so would a java applet, eh jordan?

I understand what you are saying. I think that was probably the intended purpose of the post count.

Did you know that Josh has 6718 of his posts in "HMRCWG?"

Really? It's the fastest vB I've seen (aside from vBulletin.com), although that thread is slower. Is it always very slow? Could you post your traceroute to the site?
 
the only time this site runs slow is when I'm going to the HMRCWG thread, so I just don't go there...

Well, I probably have one of the worst connection speeds at home, so I notice a BIG delay in that thread.

The comp. here at work is pretty fast so that is the only time I venture into HMRCWG.
 
if that was a real pic i bet you that allmost all of those comments would be good and not just spam like what im trying to abolish. i still dont believe that pic, i have never done that ever, on purpose or not

seriously, im having trouble finding these posts your talking about, i dont see them on pg 36, are you sure it was 36??
im not saying your lying, i just wanna see the whole screen so i can see what threadz those replies are too to help me find them

That was never part of the topic if you can read. The topic was about "HMRCWG" encouraging spamming. The topic is discussing(sp?) that thread in particular and it is not ment to single any one person out what so ever.
 
Also, you said that you're sick and tired of members post-whoring.

Page 36 or look in the Comedy Forum for your posts on 5/31. :)
