Is there a ebay that's regionalised for South Africa? Because if there is, I'd say try and search for an older Landcruiser. (Much like the one I had.)

For many reasons, the Landcruiser of the 70's and early 80's were more than amazing, and according to what I've seen on TV (don't know from experience) South Africa should have quite a few of them. I really feel bad for misjudging your location by so much. That's my bad.

Not to be rude, but where do you think he's going to get a '90's Jeep Wrangler or Cherokee in Great Britain, for less than 2,000 GBP ~ 4,000 USD?
I dont think that was rude man. :D
Well I didnt know he lives in South Africa and there was nothing in his location thing so I just assumed he lived in the US. My fault.

My buddy has a 1987 Dodge Ram that we go off roading with from time to time, its quite a bit of fun. As you can see pretty red neck, but it gets through almost anything. The thing is slightly lifted with big tires on it, brush gaurd, and some bright ass lights. Not sure what any of it is because I can only lower things.

But I say almost anything, we've had a run in or two with it. This being the worse....

As hard as it might be to believe, I have actually got the Mud truck stuck a couple times. And when I say stuck I mean all 4 tires throwing mud full blast and not moving. Keep in mind those are 44" tires (almost 4 feet high) so when that truck is stuck, it IS STUCK!!! Takes an act of god to get it out. The only way I could get it stuck was to drive into small ponds or into the edge of small lakes. Nothing else could stop it.
I really need to dig up the videos and pictures of this. One of the videos is on "my car and games site" its way at the end in the section called "my car videos(7)". Thats just 1 video and I was in 2WD. Another thing to keep in mind is the hood of that truck was at the top of my head when I stood next to it. And I am 5'10" tall. Imagine walking up to a truck and your looking up at the hood. I sure miss selling that truck. Ill try to get some pics and dig up some old videos of it.

Hey, Camaro, I feel your pain. I loved my Landcruiser. I had a video of me taking it into a mud pit in Northern Wisconsin, and all I did was put her in second and let her idle through mud that was up to my doorsills. I couldn't find anything that could slow her down. Also, I only ended up selling her after she tipped over. Get this, I was going to work (teaching snowboarding), and as I was going around this one place called "Holy Hill" (Catholic church on top of a hill.), I lost traction around one corner at 20 mph, and the front end went into the ditch and it tipped onto it's side. Oh yeah, this was 2 weeks after I had the paintjob finished. :grumpy:

What's cool about that story, is that after sitting on it's side for about a half hour waiting for the tow truck some lady called without my permission (stupid b***ch, I've got a winch and there's tons of winch points), and having the thing tipped back onto it's wheels, she started right up and I drove home.

;) My location isnt exactly self explanatory 👍

I am really sorry to hear it will cost you soo much money

Yea, it is the suck :grumpy:

Nope. Aint no ebay; basically its autorader and some naff online classifieds linked to the regional newspaper. I guess i will just have to keep an eye out at the local car lots to see if anything pops up on the cheap. Landcruiser pickups are pertty cool, but surprisingly there arent that many on the roads - there are like a billion Hilux's though :indiff:

Nope not dissin' it. I just don't join any clubs. No offense. But I am always willing to give helpful advice whenever I can. 👍
None taken...

Those are some expensive prices for those trucks, guess thats normal for South Africa eh? That would make getting parts for almost anything very costly too. I am actually glad I live in Iowa for a change. But back to the point, I would still see what is around and pick a common truck so youhave a better chance to find parts locally. Just keep looking, you will find a good deal eventually.

Now, are there any older Hilux's? Like '80's or older? Because, you could easily take a 4wd version of that and hit the mud.

Thats too bad. I don't know what I'd do with my time if it wasn't for cars and 4x4s....
I am the same way. My life revolves around vehicles since they are my main hobby. Thankfully there are video games to keep me busy when im not working on the vehicles.
Mike Rotch,
I have another idea for you. If you want to go off road. Is it possible that you could get a quad or dirtbike? They are a lot less expensive and soo much easier to maintain. And you could buy several of them for the price of 1 truck. 👍
