I discovered this while browsing Fark earlier today:

It's a new supercar made by Russo-Baltique, called the Impression, that was unveiled back in April. It's based on the Mercedes-Benz CL 65 AMG, and is equipped with a V-12 that will produce 547HP. It will sell for about 50mil rubles ($1.8mil).

Anyway, I like it save for the rims. Interesting, that Russia should have a supercar.
 
I think it's cool that it costs 50 millions rubles. That is a lot of rubles, and that is a funny name for currency.
Of course, 1.8 mil for a detuned CL65 is quite a bit much, especially considering the SL chassis is far better for sporty cars than the CL one is.

I like the looks, personally. It looks like a vulture from the front, and the overall retro 1930s Bughatti styling is pretty cool, while still retaining a semi-futuristic look.
 
1.8 millon dollars?! Thats more than Veyron.
 
Yeah, I'm not seeing the appeal. This and the Fisker have to go down as the worst re-bodies ever made. In both instances, the base car was quite nice, but the redesign is just horrific in comparison.

Yeah I don't have a real good view on it. The site says they'll open a dealer in Monaco which is just great. It's ugly enough on the web.
 
Sorry Russia but that can't be the best you can do. That thing is hideous.
 
I was eating when I saw this earlier. Come on, at least put a grotesque horror warning in the title. I don't see the appeal, horrible looks (and no, I don't think that's exaggerating the matter), so-so performance, no heritage and a crazy price.
 
Nearly 2 million dollars for a coachbuilt. Granted, it's an interesting coachbuilt, but is there a market? At least Fiskers have some traditional beauty to them (even if they're a questionable value, too) and they don't cost that much money.

And besides, I thought Russia already had a supercar? They call them TVRs. :lol:
 
Excellent idea! Take a car from some other manufacturer that has decent performance from the road, swap the engine for something that you can charge them more for while lowering the horsepower, and then throw the ugliest body you can find on it. Make sure you finish it up with some dubs too!

Edit: They are creating a dealership for the thing? They sell one car, which is $1.8M, and they need a dealership? Bugatti didn't need a dealership.
 
Ewwwww, that thing is ugly as all get out. What were they thinkin when they built that. I find it hard to belive someone went yea this thing looks good when they were designing that.
 
according to that site you could choose different components from different manufactures and models ??!! thats no super car , it has a V12 which surely going to be heavy ...and then its only got 574 ....... how could anybody label it a super car ??

Is a CL65 a supercar? Nope. Is a CL65 with a swapped body and a less powerful engine a supercar? Apparently so to the Russians.
