Home coming Dec 11 - is it private lobbies time?

Damn, must be my luck. I made sure all parental controls were off, and I don't believe there was anywhere for me to put in the age for the sub-account user.

Anything specific you did?
 
Tzayad, I'm in the same boat as you. I can't get into Home with my GTP account either. My master account works fine and so does my wife's account, it's the GTP that doesn't work. :banghead:
 
Don't know if this helps but ... first time I was remembered that GTP_Hun was a sub account was when I tried to use the headset in Ferrari Challenge online. The game wouldmn't allow me because of "parental restrictions".

So, I went to check if I had all parental controls disabled in the XMB of that account. I had.

Then I checked the parental controls on my master account (Hun200kmh", never use it). They were all disabled also.

And then, in the master account, I managed to find the "Manage sub accounts" menu (it's in "Account Management" or something like that, my XMB language is portuguese, not english) and there it was, the setting that didn't allow GTP_Hun to have voice chat with others (can't remember how that setting was named, but it was clear to me that there was the problem). From then on, I played FC online using the headset (and built in voice chat that game provides).

Last night, because of reports saying that sub accounts couldn't enter HOME, I entered first with the "Hun200kmh" account. Then, just to try it out, I entered with the GTP_Hun account. And it worked also, no problems.
 
In the account management menu > Sub account management menu, all there is for me is parental controls, and the ability to reset the password for the sub account.

You must just be lucky!
 
Did you get the error "cant log into HOME not old enough" on your sub account?



Well the problem is one of two things:



1. Your accounts age is set too low (below 13yrs)



2. If your account is old enough then your PS3 won't let you access the EULA due to your content restrictions being set to OFF for that sub account.



If your problem is 1. your hosed; you have to be 13 to access HOME



If your problem is 2. then: log in to the Master account (which controls that sub account)> go to account management> sub accts> pick which sub-account to change> go to the content restrictions option and set it to ON



Go play HOME!



I know setting the restriction to ON is a bit counter-intuitive but it works.



Also:



If its your MASTER ACCOUNT that is having this error then try this fix:



Go to your security settings of that master account then select Parental Controls

>then put in 0000 (thats the standard code if it has not already been set)

> select lvl 11 as the control setting after you hit accept it will show a screen after that with a check box saying restrict starting a game with no parental control settings uncheck that box and select ok

>You should be all set. You can then go back in and turn the parental settings back to normal later on.

I was scrambling to come up with an alternative solution (anticipating private rooms via HOME) because no one knows me by my Master Account screen name. There I was in HOME and all my buddies were ignoring me.

Come to think of it, some of my buddies ignore me anyways. lol
 
YAY its here and doesnt work......it says for me lost connection on server blah blah blah and my friend has the exact same problem!!! we wait 9 odd months and it doesnt work well for some of us.Im definitly old enough im on a master account but it doesnt connect!
 
I read elsewhere (sorry, I cannot recall where) that the parental controls must be ON for a sub account to work. This seems to be what FatLeadFoot has discovered :)
 
Another buggy useless service from Sony, logged in on the ninth try, when I got to the door to step out of the room, I had to download something and then after few seconds home just disconnected me. After that I wasn't even able to connect on many tries, left it as it was, Home has no sense for me at the moment.

I spent a good hour on it and realized why am I here?
Pay real money for new cloths? Real money for a stupid house? You gotta be kidding me!!!!! I am insulted. Right now home is nothing more than a hallow shell. Maybe in a year or so it will become more interesting.

To be fair, if I was Sony, I'd do the same, just because people do pay for this stuff, as utterly insane it may seem.

I agree with you though, it is pointless rubbish.
I will treat Home just as a laugh to be had occasionally online with friends, because its free. If we had to pay for Home though I would never have got it.
 
I assume he meant "hollow" not "hallow" :-) Anyway, I'd tend to agree, as an adult I'd rather talk to people face to face and I've got a long enough list of decorating tasks in real life without decorating a virtual world too!

On the other hand some people seem to love it, so good luck to them!

+1, 10000% agree with you, maybe its for some, but completely:crazy: pointless to others. If I want to participate in a online game in a private room, I should just have to use the games interface to host the room and send out invite, much faster and simpler.
 
Hmm maybe yes it a bit busy but still thats a bit unfair still annoying cod5 was rubbish when there was 107 thousand people online i couldnt get into a game or anything wait a week maybe it shall work i hope.
 
World of Warcraft and Warhawk also spring to mind as having unintentional denial of service!
 
PD mention, KAZ mentioned that Private lobbies will be in FULL game. Since we have PROLOGUE, a BETA game, why not include it now so we can test how stable the games are?

You guys remeber SPEC I? How really Jumpy the cars were online? How slow the Download Speeds were? With Spec III everything is way smoother and faster, no more LAG ISSUES, only once in a while but that is expected.

So why would we wait for Crappy buddy connection with full game? That will turn off many casual gamers. If we have it now, PD will know what to improve for smoother online game play, therefor FULL game will be smooth from day one. PD just give us Private rooms for the HOME users :)

The thing is... I think EVERYBODY thinks rationally like this, EXCEPT... PD... :grumpy::grumpy:
 
I surely agree with you NoxNoctis, but believe Sony needs to debug Home connections issues first before we can see an eventual online feature upgrade for Prologue.

Hi all!

Me and few other GTP's are 'beta-testing' privaterooms, ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NGUH3Rk6YY ) and it's not so fun than you might think.

...hah, just kidding. It's awesome! Hope that so many as possible could join to us next time when we are creating 'privateroom'.

It's not hard. We just concentrate very seriously, and same time think eachothers with positive sentiment.

When time is right, we just hit the 'race-button' same time... and it really works.

PD really has think about everything in this game. 👍
