Ok so I have set forth to accomplish something I've been wanting to do for a long time. This is what I basically want to do. In my living room, I'm going to set up a projector & screen. To this, I want to connect an apple TV box that will stream my movies, TV Shows, music and podcasts to it. All of which are stored on a PC in another room. The only thing in the living room will be the Projector, apple TV, and the Home Theater Audio system, and maybe the DirecTV receiver if I don't find a way to have that streamed to the projector without the receiver having to be there (not that much room available). Now here is where I have a big hurdle to jump over, that at the moment I am unable to do.

How do you get your movies on to the hard drives on my pc to put them in iTunes to stream them? I bought 2 750Gig Seagate Hard drives for this and at the moment all I have is about 10 movies off of iTunes that I bought, a crap load of music and photos, and also a big pile of podcast. But to me whats important is getting my movies into iTunes. I already purchased Quicktime Pro to convert my movies. Also I purchased InterVideo DVDCopy5 to copy my home movie DVD's on to the hard drive. and I guess the only thing left is that, how to get my movies on my discs. I've asked in other forums but they all lead to very expensive and/or free software that doesnt work at all or requires too much "Joining" or splitting files. All I want to be able to do is, backup my dvd to my HDD's, convert them to Mp4 or .Mov files to play in iTunes and have them streamed over that way. is it possible or am I just going to have to live with a BIG book of DVD's? please anyone help.

ok, I have yet another question. I have figured out how to do what I previously wanted to do, so far I've gotten my entire DVD collection backed up and the originals stored away for safe keeping. Now I've run into another situation. I need a good audio set-up, for a somewhat small room. The room is about 12x12, and it has carpeted floor. SO here's the question. Is it better to get a "Home Theater in A Box" system or get a receiver on its own and then purchase the speakers on the side? Money is not that much of an issue, I'd have to cap it off at 4 to 500 dollars, I don't want to go CRAZY on this.....any help would be nice. What do you guys have?

For that price range, I would think a threatre in a box would be the best way to go.
