I find it ever so slightly ironic that they are using a Formula One car to promote awareness of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions...

...still, as they say, no publicity is bad publicity...

This car will blend in nicely with trackside foliage after the engine becomes "zero-emission" for the third time in four races.

Since when has Global Warming become more of a problem than total middle-eastern chaos?

Yeah I agree it is very ironic, these cars arnt exactly fuel efficient! Plus you will promoting this to petrol head type people who love cars and want to drive so I don't see what they hope to gain!

 Sooooo true!

And I also agree that when the car is moving at speed and the camera is far away its going to look a mess! and it may confuse other drivers who think theres a fallen tree branch on the track or something!

Don't forget that every fly thinks he/she has a chance when going towards it of not being squashed!

 @ Kylehnat

They dont look too enthusiastic...i know i wouldnt be if i had to drive that thing :indiff:

Here are some more high-res Wallpapers of the presentation.

I love the idea behind it, Thumbs up to Honda and their corporate partners to have the courage to pull this one off 👍

So where's America and Japan, thier two biggest markets? I suppose they'd have to be located where the movable aerodynamic skirts would be, if this were 25 years ago.

From the camera and TV point of view, it will always look like a car that needs a wash.

Yes, it is daring to splash an image of the world onto a formula one car, but this seems to be a bit over the top. The way it stops and goes to black makes the car look very silly. It will look very funny driving around on the circuits

Jensen and Barrichello don't look too thrilled. I really like their expressions.

I seriously wonder what they were thinking on this one. And I though Renault's livery was bad:yuck:. Yeesh:sick:.

So, it gets better, Honda's selling pixels on the car a la that one gimmicky guy who sold a million dollars worth of pixels on the interweb a few years ago.

Still say it's a little awkward-looking but it's daring, and if it goes fast(er than everyone else) I don't really mind at all :)

(BTW, if you haven't been to that site before, check it out, it's a great site for race recaps, it has results back to the stone ages. I could get lost in there!)

Since when was the Honda F1 team an environmental charity?

Maybe they will put some of the money raised into hybrid development. Maybe.

If this was the F1 Picture Caption game, that would have won hands-down...

As soon as Honda score a major title sponsor I think they will say "We've accomplished our goal of the campaign" and try a new livery. Apparently they are out of a title sponsor (big fish) but keep getting stuck with small fish. Andretti brought Gatorade sponsorship apparently.

I love it. Sure, it seems odd, an F1 team promoting enivornmental causes (I've read it being likened to a cigarette company sponsoring cancer research, but I think that's a little harsh), but the car looks great and if Honda's 2007 season is like Button's performance in the final six races of '06 - he scored more points than anyone else - they'll be a force to be reckoned with at best, the dark horse of 2007 at worst.

Despite what I said before, I'll admit that I've been converted. I do like the paint scheme now I've had a look at it more. Perhaps to make it look a bit more authentic, maybe they could add some "stars" to the black bit of the engine cover to make it look a bit more like space

Under the concept of "our car is your car", each donor will buy a tiny individual pixel which will help build the image of planet earth on the car. Each name will be visible on the website when you make the pledge or under a microscope on the car.
...because you can walk right up to the cars, no?
