I thought I'd make this thread as I'm not too happy with the cockpit view and the roof view feels like I'm 10 feet in the air but the bonnet view, the bonnet view is pure win.

So if you find a premium car with this view post them up in this thread so we can have a quick reference to the applicable cars.



So far I've only seen the s15 Nissan Silvia which can also be race modded 👍

Roof view on all cars I've used feels like you're driving a van - sucky. I hope they add a hood cam, shouldn't cause problems with car models if it sits at around driver eye level. I can see how sitting on the hood could cause problems with some cars with big scoops etc.

Pics or it didn't happen. As far as I've seen, there is no hood view. You can see most of the hood in all the roof cams, and part of the roof in some. You sure it's not just positioned so you see everything on the hood and minimal parts of the roof? To keep this in topic, I'd say this list is complete!!!
 
No the camera is positioned way lower in the s15 view. It's definitely a hood view. If you don't believe me, buy it!

Agreed. I have a really hard time in both views knowing my cars area and how much room I have in front and sides in regards to other vehicles....maybe its me.
 
The Mustang Mach 1 looked like it has a hood view when I drove it, but I thought maybe the roof was just low.
 
The SLS doesn't, it just has a massive hood, and the roof can't be seen in the view. You guys need to go look at my camera position thread to know exactly where the camera sits on the cars.
 
I don't think there are hood views. In some cars the roof cams are mounted so that you can see a lot of the bonnet, but no actual cam on the hood.
 
Check the high end infiniti g37 i saw a vid that clearly looks to be hood view,there may be others but I saw that specific car.👍
 
I said it in my camera test thread, but I guess I have to say it here too. If we had hood cams in the game, we would barely see any of the hood. All roof cams, we see alot of the top surface of the hood. Think about it like this:

Stand at a table looking forward. Glance down a bit, and you see alot of the top surface. Now get down to the level of the surface. Don't see so much of it now do you...............
 
It's not roof cam, or else you'd see apart of the roof. It's clear as day in replays as well. There's a hood cam and it's available on some of the cars. I've seen roof cam on the SLS and it's not the same as 'hood' cam. People call it 'hood' cam because you can see the bonnet. It's probably a view from the 'windscreen'.
 
Echoing what Falango and some others have said: there isn't any hood cams during the actual gameplay. Some say there is one for the replays, but I think that might just be a more forward-sitting roof camera (I could be wrong though).

Just because the camera is on the roof, doesn't mean you see the roof. In some cars, you do. You see through your eyes, but when you look at stuff, you don't see your eyes do you? Come on dude.

Noone wants to believe me, so I will link what I tested. If this doesn't prove it, you guys need to check your head.

I want that view for every standard car in the game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If they add it, I will forget the lack of cockpits :)
 
I like roof cam... i think hood cam is way in the from of the car... roof view gives me a better perspective of the track and my surrounds. Obviously i prefer COCKPIT view when available.

So what's this? For me it's a hood view, camera level is ok, you see hood is filling almost all lower part of tv.

To me it looks like a roof view, pointed to the hood. The both pictures shows a hill ... it gives you the false impression.
 
I'll work out how to take photos of my s15 somehow. It would be better if people could buy the damn car and see for themselves though..


Nissan s15 Silvia in the Nissan dealership. Buy it.
