I'm seeing some folks "volunteer" specific rules of where to run to submit a fastest lap.

So, in Arcade Mode you submit the times you obtain during a Single Race, while in Time Trials you submit the times you obtain in the "solo" races against the clock, in the Time Trial section of Arcade Mode, correct?

Before speaking up, I'd like to clarify just where time submitted laps are run...

1. Arcade Mode/Time Trial
2. GT Mode/Circuits/Practice

Time are not to be submitted from Arcade/Single Race nor any GT Mode other than Practice (and not Qualifying/Practice, where a replay cannot be saved). No times may be submitted when other cars are on track (no drafting).

Is this correct?

That's everything that I have come to believe as it elimiantes tire wear and advantages from the equation. In other words, thats the levelest playing feild that we have.

Thanks AO 👍

In that case, I can see why there is some confusion.

Currently, under the GT4 submission links there are 4 choices; Gran Turismo Mode, Arcade Mode, Time Trials, and License Tests.

Arcade Mode and Time Trials are essentially the same thing. One would actually submit those times to Arcade Mode/Time Trials. The only other modes in Arcade are Single Race, Two Player, and LAN mode, which one woud not use for submissions.

Jordan, I realise this is a bit out of place and should be (could be?) in the Suggestions forum, but as a back channel conversation among the VRC, I felt I should post this here...

I suggest providing the links for at least the following three submission areas:

Gran Tursimo Mode/Circuits/Practice
Arcade Mode/Time Trials
License Tests

Once this is all squared away, perhaps a future addition could be the Gran Turismo Mode/Driving Missions ;)

Also, It might be a good idea to post the General Rules at the top the main page for each area. Something like this:

General Rules For Time Submissions

1. Times submitted for this section must be run in the Mode for this section
2. Drivers must only submit clean laps; Two wheels must be on track at all times, or above track if airborne. No shortcutting. No contact with walls or armcos is allowed.
3. Drivers must save a replay of the time submitted and be prepared to provide said replay via Sharkport/Xport or Max Drive. Videos and screenshots are not acceptable proof of times submitted.
4. If you suspect a time submitted is false or unattainable, either PM a Moderator/Admin, or politely query this time in a thread in the Leaderboard forums.
5. Do not cheat. There is nothing to be gained from willingly submitting a false time. If you are caught cheating, your time will be deleted and you will face reprecussions up to and including banning from the forums.
6. HAVE FUN!

I've added 4 & 5 as a bit of an afterthought, but these are accepted rules at the other databases.

Yes, of course, I would really appreciate it if suggestions and everything was contained in one thread. As you can see here, I've overlooked a lot of your suggestions because I had no idea they were in here. Please, don't make any more in this thread. Regardless, I went ahead and cleaned up the names so it should be a bit more clear.

My apologies, Jordan. I just thought my particular questions/comments warrented a back channel posting, especially the issues about the rules.
