Including the Endurance series, GT5 offers a total of 54 race events.
It's impressive, but it's nothing on previous GT games and just isn't enough to offer everything, especially since many of the 1,000 cars can be rendered useless if they can't fit into a specific race series.

Update 1.05 has restored much of our faith in PD's PR (see what I did there?) by addressing many of our issues with the game, and they've even added some seasonal events.
These are great and a welcome addition, but to me they feel more like driving missions... too restricted to count as proper events.

The thing is, it's impossible to make everyone happy. So why not let us do it?!
I know I've got some fantastic ideas for new race events (24 hours of Autumn Ring Mini, anyone?) and I'm pretty sure you have too.

I believe (though I don't have it) you could create your own race events in GT PSP, so it can certainly be done. Either way, we all thought a track editor was unrealistic but that was included too!

Now the main problem - how do you keep it fair and help towards a balanced career mode?
Exp and credits rewarded simply follow the same formula as the career events - calculated from track complexity, race length, and the driver level required for the event itself (I think), so integrating these shouldn't be a worry.
Prize cars - should NOT be included. It'd be all too easy to win an Audi R10 for one lap of Tsukuba in a Daihatsu Midget, so prize cars are best left out.

THINK HOW MUCH DEPTH THIS WILL ADD TO THE CAREER!
You can race whatever car you like on whatever track you like. You can even make a championship across whatever circuits you want!

N.B.
With due respect, please don't comment that the online mode already offers this. It does, but there are many people (including myself) who would pass up a deep online experience for a properly fleshed out career mode any day, and a better career is what I want for GT5 more than anything.
I can't let this game do a Call of Duty on me :scared:

OK, enough of me talking... what do you think?

It would be nice to have the ability to set the number of tracks (custom or default tracks), laps, types of cars, etc. I frankly don't care if I get XP/credits for doing it, mainly I'm interested just to keep the game going.

Right now the basic A/B-spec stuff has been done and I'm just messing around with special events/online...so just about ANYTHING at this point would really benefit the game in longevity.

Custom tracks? That would be great!
I'm glad that you feel the same way too, GT has always been a long-lived game but the career in GT5 really isn't long enough.

To be honest it is not hard for them to create there events.

Make a name and pick some random tracks and it's done.

Should add a page a month with new Events to get done.

For another couple of months at least anyway till everyone just goes online instead.

But that's the problem. We need the freedom to be able to pick our own events, so we can race our favourite cars wherever we want. It's fine adding some more events via DLC (and I certainly wouldn't complain) but we'd never be able to race exactly how we want to.

There's another benefit to this - think how many tracks appear rarely or not at all in the career. I know there isn't a single race on SSR7 and Cote D'Azur is used sparingly, and I would love to see some more races on these tracks.
There is so much more that GT5 can offer, and GT Life has barely scratched the surface...

@OP

I love the idea! May I add more suggestions?

-Also add these criteria that determines the Credit & EXP rewards:
--No. of opponents participating (max 16)
--A.I. Difficulty (6 levels: Very Easy, Easy, Medium, Hard, Very Hard, & Extreme)
--A.I.-to-Player performance resemblance (means if you have a slower car than the A.I.'s cars=higher EXP & Credit compensation)
--Player-to-A.I. performance resemblance (means if you have a faster car than the A.I's cars=lower EXP & Credit compensation)
--Number of events (max 50)
--Championship usage (open only if Number of events is more than 5)
--Restrictions (like ABS, TCS, Tires, HP, etc.)
--Allow/Disallow the A.I. to use tuned or modified cars (also includes how many A.I. drivers will be allowed. Max 16)
--A.I. Car Performance Scaling (this means when you obtain a fast car, the A.I. does the same as well. You can adjust the level of sensitiveness from 1-10)
--A.I. Performance Scaling (this means when you are at A-Spec level 30, the A.I. will be a lot more improved than A-Spec level 29. Turning this on means the A.I. Difficulty will gray out. You can adjust the level of sensitiveness from 1-10)

That's probably it.

elitedriver123, those ideas are great!
Just wondering, when you say max 50 events is that 50 races per series or a total of 50 race series?
I'm not sure there are enough tracks to have 50 different races, but it would certainly give a lot of play time :)
Either way, we'd certainly need the ability to create a lot of different series. If we end up with anything like the cap for sharing only 8 photo's it would kinda defeat the object :(
