How are online rewards calculated?

i had a race with about 14 people today at Cote d' Azur and it was 25 laps,

i came 3rd with 18k exp and 47kCr but 1st got a couple hundred of each.

he was a similar level to me and 2nd place got less than i did and he was the same level as me.

not quite sure how it works.

I'm curious to know this, too. If I knew how the online rewards worked, I would race online more to try and earn as much as (or more) than you can get in the Indy race, that would make grinding a bit more fun.

hmm... didnt even know that online gave anything out. Ive only ever been to 1 or 2 rooms online that actaully initaited a race. everyone else just puts down laps and calls everyone gay while insulting their cars. Its like every game on xBox live.
