however with low DF settings.
Low downforce you say......... Have you tried doing the race with an "automotive engine swapped brick" that has no downforce at all ?
Totally legit no wall riding two stop race. The time screenshot is my 3rd attempt when I got the CRB as well.

Engine swapped A45 is a blast.Go max weight with max hp or lower weight with less hp,medium or high speed turbo, either ones a winner.A one stop dash for tyres and a little fuel. The non swapped A45 is a good solid car too.

Not sure whether to post this here or post this at all as I haven't run the WTC600 at Tokyo for almost 2 years after stopping the grind.
So I do not have that experience that you guys have neither have I tried a lot of different cars.
Since the race has been part of the Weekly Challenges recently I came back to it though ending up with the Mustang Boss 429 which had been suggested by @Nebuc72 . Went on with a setup by @johnson_57 and got fascinated about that car. I'm talking about the standard version, no swap engine installed.

After about 2 handful of races with a CRB as a must and without wall riding of course the best time I could achieve was a 25:08.
FYI my race strategy always is SM tires, FM1 with a pit stop after 7 laps for tires and fuel. I've been very content with my results already but in the back of my head I always had that idea to break into the 24s. Which seemed beyond my skill horizon though.
I then saw the replay of a Japanese driver who did this successfully by using quite a similar tune, however with low DF settings. Lowering the DF means you can drive with less weight - the car is a beast anyway but this felt really tough. Especially since the low DF variant is more vulnerable on the wet track with puddles and the likes. Another positive effect besides better top speed and acceleration is shorter braking distances of course.

I must admit I needed an hour of driving to get accustomed to what happens on track but hey, I finally ( my third attempt ) got there. And there's still a bit more in it ;-) Really proud of having managed an absolutely clean run, if you're interested you'll find it in the in-game showcase : Title is "Born to run.", #rjruns #weeklychallenges ...

Can you or @johnson_57 re-share settings? I still have stock suspension and it's easy win but lap times are 2:05 at the end

I have tried this race a couple of times now and have never gotten the CRB once. Could someone please give every detail on things losing you the CRB here?

My understanding is this:
  • touch other drivers unless when lapping them
  • Cross the white lines at the final u-turn with more than 2 wheels (standard GT7 track limits, this also applies to the white line on the left after the exit before the final left kink towards the main straight) or touch the barrels
  • Everything else should be fair game or rather no other part of the track has the opportunity to cross a white line and touching walls is no problem
One remaining doubt I have is the white line to the right after turn 2. Is that fine to cross to the right or does that count towards the CRB too? And am I correct with my assumption of track limits in the final u-turn or is touching the white lines completely off limits there?

Thanks for clarification!

As far as I know it’s just the white lines around the hair pin. As for tapping cars, just don’t do it. I’ve had the AI try to pass me on the brakes in to turn 1 and hit the back or side of me and still got the CRB, but you can’t dive bomb them and tap em going in to a turn. Usually if you are lapping someone, like the black viper, you can tap them but they generally are so slow that you can easily pass them. I did once smash in to the rear end of the viper because he cut across the track while I was trying to pass him and still got the CRB.
