Very clever.
When a moderator locks a thread, it is because he has deemed that the topic is not worth continuing as a separate thread. If you want it unlocked, you can ask the moderation staff to reconsider, but ninety-nine times out of ten, it stays locked.
The original thread was locked because the question had been answered even before it was asked, and it was turning into a spamfest.
If you want a place to chat, there's a perfectly usable chatroom. Don't clutter up the forum with useless threads.
