The way I asked that sounds rather confusing, but it was the best I can do.

Basically, I have a very large monitor, the problem is that the screen leaves about 2CM from the edge all the way round. It is rather noticeable. I have had a look in the settings, but I'm still unsure what to do. How can I have the screen content to fill the monitor..?

You can adjust that in the "menu" of your monitor (should be a button on the monitor to enter menu). You can adjust the horizontal and vertical until the image fits the entire screen.

I had a look, there were Horizontal and Vertical buttons. All those did were move the menu around..

There was another option "Widescreen" - my current one. And "4:3" - a vertical one. Both kept the screen the same.

:indiff:

Do you have an ATI graphics card? If you do and use it's HDMI output then you can blame ATI's stupidity. Thankfully it's easily fixable.

It underscans by default. You have to open catalyst control center, go to digital and flat panels, scaling options and drag the slider all the way to the right IIRC. Now it should be fine. You might have to switch to advanced mode to see this option, I don't remember anymore.

What's your graphics card? You may need to rifle through your graphics card control panel to find the option to adjust the desktop size and position. I know it's very easy in the nVidia Control Panel (can't remember what menu it is however) but with my new laptop with an ATi graphics card it seems very well hidden in the Catalyst Control Center.
