I guess theres a complaint for everything GT5, I honestly think its an amazing game, standard, premium, who cares? When I'm going 200+ MPH at maple ring, I don't care! PD did an amazing job at making a fun sim racer, so what if the damage model isn't its best? At least it has damage!

An amazing game, for sure, but it doesn't mean it can't get better.

True, but I think that the game seems to be "picked on" quite a bit, yeah it has its faults, but name me a game that doesn't....besides Ocarina Of Time.

Better processor for the PS3 or PS4. Thats all they need. They already know how its how they can make it work with a maxed out PS3 is the problem. So as soon as they can upgrade that to be able to do anything you want that's when they will implement it.

There are several games with this kind of damage on production models. Shift 2, Driver, etc.

I know these games aren't like GT5, I'm just sayin.

Really? As far as I have seen, not a single driving game with licensed cars have been allowed to fully immobilize a car by engine and or tire damage. I mean the production cars as race cars tend to have been sub licensed and are allowed to display full damage, parts flying off and what ever else can happen to a car. If you say it does I will have to look into it, Driver isn't the same type of game but I will check that as well.

Yeah in Driver you can definitely destroy your car to the point that it's immobile, then you have to find another car. The game has a decent car list, including Lamborghini and RUF.

What about pit radio to give you that link and make it somewhat human, almost to say if carry on this way then the outcome will be eg; engine over heating etc...

Because it would add to the realism. Look, you can roll a car, crash it, damage it, but you can't blow it up or have it catch fire like those Nascar games? What about the one Ford Racing game where if you damaged your car you had to pay to fix it? I think those would awesome features.

would love if PD went back to early GT5:Prologue clutch mechanics where you can stay on the throttle when shifting and just add an engine damage thing so that you hurt the engine if you overrev during the shift and maybe some clutch slip and wear.

Overheating, burst tires and engine failure wouldn't be too hard to implement I imagine?

In concept yes, but when it comes to tires, the physics engine may have to be altered to accommodate tire wear as well as irregular wear that can lead to punctures.

That, and incorporating gravel and the bits like damaged bodywork which are the usual suspects in punctures.

For that one added thing, PD will have to add several others. The physics engine right now can probably only be tweaked, and not fully updated. A small step, ends up being a walk...or so to speak...

That Processor is not as glamorous today as it was in 2006.

Engine failures can come from over revving the car too much, and perhaps taking track heat into consideration, that wouldn't be too difficult to implement.

Has anyone mentioned destructible wing mirrors yet? Wing mirrors could be broken off (on specific cars) when two cars are grinding beside each other. I'm sure this would effect aero in possibly even a positive way.

Nice ideas, but with production car models you won't get race ending damage. Somewhere in those licenses PD signed to use manufacturers cars certain things cannot happen, crumpling of the A,B or C pillars(cabin compromise), cars can never stop running due to damage.

So explain me why other games like GTR2 have full damges when you have a serious crash the cars stop moving and you HAVE to retire from the race. Yes they had an official FIA GT licence, using brands like Lamborghini, Ferrari, Maserati, Lister, Saleen, Porsche, Seat, Mosler, Chevrolet etc.
I think the statement "cars can't stop running because of the licenses" is just a speculation.

The best damage i have seen is on Sega GT on the Dreamcast when you lost your exhaust you would get thick black smoke and a horrible sound from your car :D

I think the damage is ok no need to go ott with paint scratches/damage just think they need to make it easy/quicker to lose car parts like bumpers/mirrors/spoilers/body kits/exhaust maybe wheels too.
Sometimes the car deformation does look weird but its ok we don't need extreme damage just some damage please :)

plus the abiilty to get punctures too :)

Full aerodynamic affect would be good. But before that PD this do, must make better visible damage

Everything posted here would be awesome, Sadly it won't happen PD cares too much about noobs who cant drive :(.

Not quite sure what you are referring to, but back when you were a noob, didn't you appreciate that PD cared for you? ;)

Things like coming too much with 2 wheels over the curbs resulting to undercarriage damage would be cool. Slam your exhaust or oil pan on the curbs, it gets broken. The lower your car, the higher the risk for it.

Also, you know those red blocks in the apex of every corner at Laguna Seca? In reality they are risen a few centimeters. When you drive over them at speed irl, chances are good you'll bust your suspension.

Those would be cool features if implemented and it would counteract cutting corners in a realistic way.
