How close to winning with out winning

Talking about missions i am stuck on 1 lap wonder Suzuka mission with the Takata its damn hard. I dun mission 23 after a few gos but this 1 is a Nightmare :ouch:

and on the subject of losing by tiny amounts my dad equaled a time on the licences for gold and the medal wasnt awarded đź‘Ž

I got an even time on a license test but it failed me. That really pissed me off.

That happened to me before in other GT games, but I swear I matched the time in one license test in GT4 and it gave it to me. I was very surprised because I thought you had to beat the time. Of course, my memory could be failing me. :sick:

Maybe the game determines the win/loss before it rounds to the number you see on the screen?

and the car would have to be powered by a 427 cui big block V8.

If I had to pick one it would be the World Classics and you are being stomped on by a Shelby Cobra.

On-topic:

Closest race without winning for me is the GT All-Stars at the Test Course. We were only in just one drafting pack when I had the lead and blew it right at the finish line when the R8 drafted me (I'm in first place and the car was a Pescarolo w/o any mods) just enough to pass..
 
Driving Mission 30 (?) the one with the Subaru's
I had the 360 in my sight when i came out of the last bend...i thought it would be smart to try and slip into its slipstream until it was time to pass. and when i finally pulled out to pass it, i managed to bump into it, and with my higher speed i pushed it over the finish line with a differencial time of 0.048 secs!!!
 
The end result wasn't really close, but I was close to winning: Chaparal 2J at Le Sarthe II. Blew a 3 minute lead on the last lap because I decided to drive a victory lap in A-Spec. Turns out the car handled like it had bike tires on it, especially compared to how well it raced in my first A-Spec stint, which was the first 3 hours of the race.

Same here. Even time on License IB-13 and still gold.
If I recall correctly, in an earlier version of GT I did not get gold after an even time. Maybe the times are measured in 0.0000 seconds and rounded off on screen, seems unlikely though :odd:
