i found it when i searched for gran turimo forum on google, it was the day i got GT4, the day of my birthday, four days after it was released (this is as el flexo by the way)

i signed up, then thought, im not ready for a forum this big et, i then returned and haven't left since, except for the name change from el flexo to CCX

I've merged the original 'How did you find GTP?' thread and this new one, since for search purposes in the future, it would help not to have two identical threads.

On the subject of searching, try using the 'Search Titles Only' option, this can also help to pin down a search more accurately 👍

Blame google. I was looking around for that hektik drift GT3 stuff and stumbled across this place.

I was looking for a place on Google to chat to people online. It was a coincidence it being on something I like: cars and Gran Turismo! I spent a few weeks just browsing as a guest, then signed up when I was ready. :)

I heard 'gtplanet' whisper in the wind but thought nothing of it, then the next day i swear i saw it appear in the ripples of a stream, i was a little intrigued by then, so i googled not expecting to find anything and here i am now.

i searched on google for some GT-stuff and "boom" now i'm here for over a year, and still enjoying the people around here 👍

A little over four years ago I was on the internet looking for a prize car list for GT3 when I stumbled across this site and joined. Besides the occasional post on the ESPN forums (since there aren't enough people frequenting the sports forums here) this is the only message board I have ever used.

I think I found GTP when Scaff appeared on another forum. Know me Scaff? :p
He got me here, and 500 posts and a premium member later, here I am.

I was looking for GT4 cheat codes and stuff. I looked around and used this site and all the game info for a month or two before I joined. Funny thing is though that I hadn't set up my new email when I sent my application, so I never recieved my comfirmation thing for about 2 weeks. I almost forgot all about it when I finally checked my new mailbox when I saw the confirmation from the site. I was so excited, I started spending at least five hours a day on here.

I first found GTP when I was looking for a Gran Turismo community. Big thing, I found the biggest and the best.

GTP is really great, the staff is top notch and they do awesome jobs. Most of the members are really great, mature and have great opinions, but some others don't belong here (IMO). The variety of forums the board has provides an excellent flexibility of discussions here, not restricting the members to only the GT series or gaming. The Premium features adds a higher level of sensations to the board (despite the fact that I haven't been a premium member), where you can surf the board ad-free, with your username red-bold, bigger avatars, etc... The board overall is a masterpiece in all it's ways.

In another level, GTP helped me to change. I found new things in myself I didn't knew I had, and I got rid of some other things, and especially the attitude I had when I first got here. GTP helped me to become more patient and indifferent to the troublemakers (which seems to like me alot for some reason...). People like James (G.T.) and such helped me to develop my english further more, and people like Famine made me learn new things (Come on, we all know Famine is a walking encyclopedia...). So to conclude, GTP really been a great thing in my life.

Unfortunately, I lost interests in GTP at some point. That's why you guys don't see me alot anymore, but yeah sometimes I come and get interests back, sadly I end up losing those again. I just come and go... ;)

I hope the board will last a long time, the staff are giving all their hearts into this project, and they deserve to be thanked and rewarded. Thank you guys :)

I came from Jordan's MSN Group (then called "Community") before he began this website and forum. I'm one of the first 5, or so, original members here.

Well, I joined on November 3rd of 2003, but my first post was on May 1st of 2005 (complaining about IGN.com's Enthusia review, no less  ...Anyone who knows me around here should get a chuckle out of that).

I have a faint memory of wanting to find a forum where I could talk about Gran Turismo 3, since that was my favorite racing game for the longest time (until I found Live for Speed, anyway), and of course, with how big this site is, it's one of the very first things you find on Google when you search for anything related to Gran Turismo. I have no idea why I gave up on that idea, but I can tell you that the reason why I came back is because I found our Enthusia sub-forum while looking for an Enthusia forum on Google.

I found GTPlanet when everytime I search for Gran Turismo in Google it came up with GTPlanet in something like 2004 and was viewing it as a non-member.But there were some posts that I seriously wanted to reply to so I became a member in August 2006.:guilty:

I WASN"T SEARCHING FOR CHEATS TO GT4!!!!*

*Yes i was :p

i did a google search for how to win the Opel speedster trophy on GT4 and i found a link to a thread on it;)

All I remember is that I didn't join this site until after I had bought GT4... so perhaps it was to simply chat about GT4? What probably got me hooked was the WRS... and then the photo competitions really got me to stay. However I haven't played GT much, as I have been without my PS2 for a year now... so the Rumble Strip is where I spend my time on GTP now.

That should be the opening line of a poem.
Oh, it is.

GTP came to me in a dream and it was beatiful
Like the way a small child's head shines after a shampooing
Or an old man's head shines after a waxing

GTP brings joy to millions
Like the way a small child's mispronunciation of acetomenophen does
Or the way an old man mispronounces his grandson's name

Ah, GTP
Don't change, don't change

I was looking for pics and info on GT4. Stumbled across this site, signed up after a few days. Fell in love with this place.

I was looking for GT4 videos and to download them you had to register first, so i did.(Oct 20 2004)
Only about half a year later i made my first post (apr 5 2005) in the Photoshop Muiltiple Cars Thread over in the GT4 Photo and video forum

I was on another forum and a member there that I got on with had tried to register at this site but something went wrong so he asked me if I'd register and ask for help on his behalf. I registered and asked for help on his behalf and stuck around myself.
