Hi, I can't figure out how to adjust (turn off) the ASM and TCS on GT4. Can somebody give me an idia of where i might find such an adjustment?

Welcome to the GTP, Az4u2c.

How about turning this thread into "What are your TCS/ASM settings"? as I haven't really tinkered with different settings, just turned them down as I'm used to not using them at all, but the physics are a little too real now. :dopey:

Under car settings, (right before a race), look for a little wrench icon that says driving aids, then set it to 0 to turn off.

sounds good, i don't think straight zero for all cars is the way to achieve maximum efficiency

edit: i'll start that thread now, if for some reason it isn't approved lets use this one.

I would think it wouldn't be approved because that type of thread belongs in the "car tuning and settings" sub-forum. Maybe you should start one there (if there isn't already one started) :)

I set my TCS to level 3.... seems pretty good at this level... can anyone else confirm this?

I have mine on 2 and 3 (just forgot which one is what) but it just doesn't have all of it's power until the wheel/thumbstick it straight.

Does anyone else find that the driver assists are actually more of a hindrance than they are a help? They mess with your turns and reduce your acceleration. I wish you could turn them off globally instead of having to reduce them every time you drive a new car.

👍 👍 👍 there was an option to do that in GT3....but it didn't actually do anything.

That affected it in arcade mode. I never play arcade mode once I get 100%, because you dont' actually accomplish anything. I don't want to whip a car around a course, and get nothing... I want something for my time, whether it be credits, a car, or even more game completion percentage.

in 2 player split screen mode, how do you play with tcs and asm on if you load cars from your memory card??

p.s. i know i am a complete n00b so dont laugh if the answers obvious.

I cant believe that you cant use TCS/ASM etc in 2player with your memory card cars. Sure the aids do screw with your acceleration and turning, but as somebody has previously said, a little aid can help. TCS for example, set at bout 3 can really help a really powerfull Rear wheel drive like Jaguar XJR-9 or Nissan RCP328493478934734785637887635696305 (lol) race car.

You can lengthen the gears or start in 2nd or keep it a gear high and get the same effect.

While experimenting with my TVR, I noticed it had a tendency to spin out. I took it to the test track and it ran only 155 MPH. That's when I tuned the overall gear ratio to either 18 or 19 and it runs 212 MPH before hitting the limiter, and the ratios seem perfectly spaced. It did take it a while to pull that last 5 MPH, but it really softened up the "hit" of the car. It rarely smokes the tires unexpectedly now, and it's fully tuned.
