Well, I've got a bunch of CD's with stuff I burned awhile ago, and it's useless, and I'm wondering if it's possible to erase what's on the CD, that was burned on. Is it possible, I haven't been able to accomplish that.

Thanks.

If they're CD-R's no, if they're CD-RW's yes, because RW stands for ReWritable. I believe that's how it works.

Yeah, unless it's a CD-RW all you can do is add to the CD (yes, you can add extra stuff to CD-R's). If they are on CD-RWs though, just open your burning program, open the disc and hit Delete on the files you want to remove.

Argh, there CD-R's. I'll look into buying CD-RW's next time.

Thanks. 👍
Yeah, but CD-Rs are like £0.15 each. Just burn a new disc without the files you want to delete.

Sven, I believe all CD Writers can re-write discs. If you're talking about the use of packet-writing (as in Roxio DirectCD or Ahead InCD), you tend to find that 100MB or so that's "missing" from the disc capacity is actually the driver required to make a standard CD-ROM drive read a packet-written disc. The drive just needs to conform to one of the "book" standards (white??). Shouldn't be a problem for full-size drives, but older laptop CD-ROM drives had problems with them.

roxio cd maker lets you format a CD-R and write and delete files where and when you want to....as long as you use the roxio explorer to make them in te first instance....

it cant help you now but maybe in the future you can create CDs with it if you want to delete them later...

i am not sure how it does this but it certalinly does...i have done it on numerous occasions...it creates a CDRW out of a standard CD-R...(apparently)
