How do I install the GTR2 Demo Patch?

OK, I know how to install, which I have done.
But there is still no online functionality.
It is still version 1.0.0.0.
I've installed it to the root folder, but now how do I actually update it?
Do I have to uninstall the original?
 
As far as I remember, you just install the patch to the same place that the game is. Surely there's a readme with the patch?

EDIT: Hold on. Demo patch? The demo doesn't have a patch. The patch is for the full game.

No, I'm pretty sure that on the download page for the demo it says that you need to download a patch to play online.
 
Yeah, I was reading it wrong, lol, thanks daan for clearing that up.
But didn't it say that the GTR2 demo had online functionality?
Or was that GTREvo.
Or was I again reading it wrong. :)
