How do I make colored SVG decals with a transparent background for GT Sport?

I haven't the slightest notion of that but I'd love to get in that kind of thing. I tried Inkscape but... yeah. I'm totally clueless.

If someone can help me with a tutorial for how to convert PNG to SVG with a way to choose a color for a transparent background, man would I be thankful.

I tried to do that with my Coco the kitty design but there is a colored background behind his face, forcing me to make the car the same color than the one behind his face.
