How do I remove steering wheel graphics in PC titles?

In SimBin titles I can remove the onscreen steering wheel. How do I accomplish this is the newer games like F1 2011, Dirt series, Need for speed shift, etc etc.

Can anyone help? this used to be a very wanted feature in years past, now its hidden in menus somewhere? I don't know, there has to be a way.

I think that if you are talking about the steering wheel and driver hands in cockpit view only instaling a mod you will be able to do so... because (I might be mistaken) this games you talk about were made for console and ported to PC...

Man that sucks, do you know of any mods? I'll happily mod any PC title I have. But when I google this all I get is links to damn real steering wheels. I can't be the only one of earth who wants to get rid of the wheels.

remove steering wheel mod (cockpit only no helmet cam) - http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=31888 as the modder said - if you want to drive in the helmet cam without a steering wheel use this mod and just put a helmet on

the way I got the mods was google - Shift 2 unleashed mods - and voila
I can do the same for the other two games but I will have to do it tomorrow because Im off to bed now... sorry

I looked for ages when I was hammering Dirt2, only thing available is a cam mod by Dengo (on nogrip).

Unfortunately every single mod requires you to unpack the game. Wtf. I miss the days of the console where I could change what I want.

Any way other than unpacking the game?

Desperate here. I've got my view perfect through the wheel rim at my virtual gauges and the arms and wheel are killing it. Bah!

man I wish console devs would wise up and give us an option to get rid of the hands/wheel in cockpit view's. I can't see how it would be too hard to just include an option or something...

This is the main reason I mostly play in the hood view.

I didnt find any mods for the codemasters games, unfortunatly... I forgot to tell you... and I searched everywhere...

There is one for DiRT 3 but in reality all it does is change the FOV to put the wheel out of sight. I tried it and was kissing the windscreen so I took it off

There's prob same for DiRT 2 somewhere.
