Hello gents, could someone please tell me how I set the buttons up so they are my wipers ,lights ,horn.Im using a g27 and would like them on the wheel but would make do with them on the shifter. Thankyou

Sadly you can't on the G25 or G27. It's not one of the "officially supported wheels", although curiously the lights on the G27 work.

It's possible the option might be added soon, as there's a lot of updates coming over the following weeks / months. As a G27 owner myself, I've got my fingers crossed!

It seems, at the moment, you don't. Haven't heard of anyone successfully doing that. Yesterday, I tried it myself, but to no avail. In GT5P you did it by mapping the DFP buttons, but it doesn't work anymore. Some people are mapping the controller buttons to functions like lights or wipers. I think I'm going the same route. Hope they fix this, though.

Hi I'm new here :)

Im a owner of a G27, but finding it hard to change gear using the clutch. Everytime I try to change gear it doesn't engage to any gear apart from neutral.
But the weird part is that I can change gears just by using the gear shifter without stepping on the clutch. Ive tried other games like GT5P and NFS Shift they all work.

A quick jab at the clutch just doesn't cut it in this game. You have to push it all the way down, if you want to make sure you don't miss a gear. Personally, I think it could be a tad more sensitive.

Am I misunderstanding something in either the original post or yours? Because remapping buttons using the DFP settings works fine for me.
I've got look left and right on the wheel buttons, and I've made some changes to a few of the button mappings on the shifter unit as well.

Edit: I'm using a G25 by the way, so perhaps that's where my misunderstanding lies, if the additional buttons on the G27 wheel don't correspond to any of the standard buttons?

If you have a stock clutch and flywheel , you have to be very gentle when you shift gear , you have to push the clutch down , than slowly change the gear , or you you will be stuck in the neutral , i guess its kinda like you had ''stalled''.

If you upgrade your transmission , you will be able to change the gear way faster , not as fast as a real powershift i guess, but it still make things easier and more responsive.

The clutch is not officialy supported i guess , and it could be improved a bit , to make it more like the real thing. Then if we can customise buttons , the g27 could be fully supported.

It appears that the G25 buttons can still be mapped using the DFP menu in Options, however I have had no luck mapping G27 buttons using the DFP menu.

Also, I've had no problem using the G27 clutch but incredibly, in GT5 it appears that clutch shifting is slower than using the paddles, which is the opposite to GT5Prologue.

Make sure you are fully on the clutch pedal when engaging the gear, if you are even slightly off max clutch pressure the gear will not engage. This is especially difficult for downshifts but once you get used to it, it's rather fantastic fun, if a little slower than paddling

Yesterday was my first day where i had fun playing GT5 lol (didnt take long to have fun) i had to relearn the brake travel (i played Iracing a lot in the last 3month) but i dont think i will ever play with the H gearbox and clutch again (G27 here) im used to downshift without using the clutch (rev matching) you can't do this in GT5 and its impossible for me to heel toe in my playseat im too tall (6'3") so paddle is the way to go. the only thing that really annoy me is the reverse and handbrake button they need to be on the wheel not on the shifter and i didnt find anyway to put them there ... i hope they do a G25/27 profile in the control panel

i only need to push it half and it engages, stand still rev in first whil clutching and slowly release the clutch, the grabbing point is over halfway and you can actually toy with it...

Welcome to GTPlanet  :gtpflag:

I'm very interested to know how iRacing aficionados get on with the new GT5 physics model, I know that it will bring in a great many more users if the two physics models are reasonably close, or at least moreso than Prologue. I hope that you will be able to offer some valuable insight into the comparison of iRacing and GT5 in the appropriate threads and forums here on GTP, I'd really look forward to reading your views. I'm not blessed with your height so I didn't have as much trouble heel and toe-ing...except when I completely missed the pedals

Yes you can. You need to select Driving Force Pro (1) and asign the buttons there. It worked for my G25

Hey, new to wheels and online play, I have the G27 and it is awesome for the most part and I have many hours with it on F1 2010 but no online play until last night. I think I need some help initiating my PS3 controller as a secondary controller. I believe it may solve a few issues, first is I went online last night for the first time and was on a rally course with several others but when I wanted to stop racing or log off I couldnt do anything except shut off my PS3, I have also found it difficult to shut the game down or get out to my PS network because it seems there is no start or select buttons. On the shifter the red button second to the right (pause) it seems, my L1 is rear view on the wheel but all other red buttons on wheel and shifter are usless.

Ok I will try to do this lol. I'm a french canadian so forgive me if I do some mistake lol I will do my best. For the Iracing vs GT5 I will not do any comment/review on this, because (sorry for what I'm about to say, I don't want to be flame for this :scared: ) I think we can't compare a PC sim and a console "sim", but all the things I learned from Iracing help me a lot in GT5. For me GT5 is a fun game and Iracing is where you have to put a lot of effort to be good.

Back to the topic: The G27 need to be fully support and we need do be able to adjust our steering a lot more ... like we can do on a PC. The reason I think the paddle is a better choice to race is that if you take all the steering wheel available you don't have any H gate shifter and the brake need to be recalibrate, I'm braking at 100% when I use 30-40% of my pedal travel.

Yet another GT5 surprise for me (yes I understand that it is not an officially supported wheel), but at least none have really diminished the game for me, however I wish I had looked for this thread before spending an hour trying to map my G27. :ouch:

I'll just add that I have attempted to map the G27 using every steering wheel setting, including the Thrustmaster, but to no avail. It is a very strange situation to have buttons with a function, specifically those working on the wheel itself ( [1] rear view & [2] high/low beam), but not to be able to change their function.

In the end, I am left wondering how the wheel works at all; this feels more like a situational handicap. It is still a complete joy to drive with, so that is a saving grace, but I do hope that PD provides us with some form of a corrective update.

I have tried also, but to me it seems as if only certain buttons do not work? Weird that the G25 can map controls (mostly all), but the G27 won't recognize most of the inputs...

Your lucky then! I tried mapping the buttons on my G25 using the dfp 1 trick and like Synwraith mentioned it didn`t work for him either :ouch:

Hi, :)

take a look at my easy solution (just two rubber bands :) ) and a little map for button settings on pad ;)

I use the G27 and complained to Logitech since they promote this wheel as compatible with GT5. They offered to refund my purchase price. I don't think we'll ever see an update from PD or Logitech to make the buttons work.

I have an online friend who said he downloaded an update from Logitech to make the clutch and stick shift fully operational, but I haven't tried it myself.
