How do you bypass the "1 prize car" limit?

So I find myself trying to collect particular cars... umm... okay, they're rotaries ... But can't figure out how to win multiple copies of cars. I mean for instance that the 787B is available as a prize in only 2 races, and the RX-8 is available in three. You can only win each prize car once. However, the RX-8 is available in around 6 or 8 different colors. See my dilemma?

So, how can I get one of each color if I can't buy them or keep winning them as a prize car once I've already won them? If you have a way to do it, please share. :fdevil: :darkside: :fdevil:

I think the colour of the prize cars are random,found it really annoying when i wanted 1 colour and got just about everything else,especially when there are 4 different prize cars on offer.

Yeah , that is quite annoying , but that's a good question , how to bypass it?
I really want my nismo R32 GTR Vspec II S-tune in all the colors... The 400R in different color won't hurt either...

In the non-series races where there is only one prize car, you can only win the car one time. The Acura RSX is a good example. There is only one chance to get this car in your Simulation garage.

In series races where there is a random car chosen from a group of four or five, you can win the series multiple times to get multiples of the cars.

Some cars come in different colors but others do not. From what I understand, as an example, the RX-7 RZ is only available in white.

The Mazda 787B can only be obtained in "Like the Wind" once, and for completing 75% of the game.

If you want some real fun, and a moderately easy challenge, go to the "Dream Car Championship" in Amature League and win a bunch of RX-7 LM Race Cars. I think it is available in red, black, green, blue, silver, and white (could be wrong).

Yo , in my pal relase you can get 100s of them in all the colours , I used to do it myself because they sell for 75k and all you have to do is win the type-r meeting in the beginner league... Ypu can do it over and over...

Hey CHEER UP!!! You can win unlimited RX-8's! just do the amateur GT WORLD championship! on of the 4 cars u can win is the RX-8, and u can do it over & over & over again!!!!

I was hoping for a sly "cheat" way to do it. Like copying the cars to a new disc and resetting the driving record somehow, so the shorter "Na Race of NA Sports" can be repeatedly won for a better chance of getting an RX-8, rather than copleting the 10 race series "GT World Championship".

Any good websites with those kinds of trickery to point me to? I remember seeing a coule of good ones when GT2 was relatively new...

Oh, if you have two memory cards you can cheat it easy. Or if you have a 'shark port'.

Basically you save the game onto a second card, then buy it with the other card, then save it again, then buy it again, then save it again ...

actually u CAN'T repeat the na sports car cup! you only win the car once! so for you my friend, the GT W.C is your choice, hehe! You only have to win the first 7 though!

I was thinking it may be possible to keep the cars and reset the clear status information when copying the files in the file operation menu. They you could race the NA Race, but the car on your spare card, and reset the clear status again.

Well, with some trickery you could save after the second to last race, quit out of the last, get your prize car, save to one memory card, buy it to the other memory card, then reload the game from where you saved it before you got the random car.

Repeat, wash, rinse.

Hmmm... I don't believe you can back out of a series race to save, then resume where you left off. That would work for the third race of the NA Race though. Except that one has long been completed, and it would take too freakin' long to get back to the point where I could win the RX-8 again.

While I was thinking of ways to bypass this little problem, I raced the GTWC again, and won an RX-8 in a color I didn't have yet. :-) Two more to go. I guess it only comes in 5 colors...

I really hate this system they have for prize cars in single race cups. If they're gonna have it where you can win the prize car only once, they shouldn't have it where the car is only retrievable in that cup. This is making me seriously consider starting over so I can get some of my cars in different colors along with cars that come in exclusive colors that I may have missed out on.

there really isn't a way to do it other than save the game before the last race or having enough credits to bypass the last few races...

if you do that you increase your odds of winning the car of your choice.

Thanks everyone, I will plug away at the GTWC series I guess. Starting over and working my way back to the NA Race of NA Sports victory is too much bother. Besides, I won the Z Concept yesterday trying for another RX-8.

I'm not complaining about the color. I want them ALL. And quit typing and start racing if you want an RX-8. Jeez!

That would be wrong. I have won an RX-7 RZ in this ugly ass blue-ish green color before (it wasnt the LM either). Even though you can only buy it in white, doesnt meanit only comes in white....

This is true, my RZ is yellow. I think it's good that the prize cars often come in different colors than the dealer sells, it's a bit of an incentive to save your money and hold out for a version you've obviously 'earned'. Still, it would be nice if the one-time prize cars showed up at the dealer in a few colours after you've won one.

i just found out that there is an acura rsx in the game, the damn thing doesnt even show up in the car manufacturer, well anyway, i got it in white. can you believe it? WHITE? it looks like ****!

It shows up on mine, under US cars, under Acura, all the way over to the right. You can't buy it, though.

Well, memory cards cost like $30 (or at least they did when I got my PS2 back in July '01), so I wasn't really willing to spend that type of money on buying another memory card. Besides, this way it will take me longer to complete the game, which will hold me over until GT4 comes out.

Here's my thinking, and it may give you a clue as to my age group:

Time = Money

If someone is making $5 (which I believe is below minimum wage, but I always underestimate income and over estimate expenses), they would have to work for 6 hours to afford a $30 card (with no tax magically, unless you live in Nevada).

Would it take more time to afford the card, or start over and erase your game data to work your way back to having a ton of cars?

Plus, with 2 cards, you can do that extra special copy thing, so you can sell off cars, and buy other cars, and have 400 different cars to choose from in arcade mode. :cheeburga

But if you'd like to pay me to play GT, I will not turn you down. What a great idea!
