How do you get the pole position?

How do you get the pole position or get a better place than 6th? I know it has something to do with practicing.

You have to do the Qualifying lap.

There is no qualifying in Prologue...
YOu have to work your way up to the front, its not too hard, just need some practice

I usally us nitrous in the begining of the race. Then I am usally ahead.

There's no NOS in GT4, he's talking about Prologue. I don't think there's a way to get the 1st place each race. The AI are easy. 👍

you can only qualify during tournaments. i think.

there is no NOS in prologue, and you cant start anywhere else but 6th in the races. i have completed prologue so trust me. the AI is extremely easy anyway. i have driving aids off, traction control off, using manual and still finish 1st everytime. the game is a piece off cake... the only hard part is the purple tests... that took me awhile...

give it a try with a turbo that works at low RPM (presumably stage 2).

Hmmm... it's Prologue we are talking about. And in Prologue you can't do any tuning to the cars performance unlike in GT4. You can't buy turbos, NOS, exhausts, etc.
