If you see an Australian adjusting his internal rear view mirror, he's not, he's actually changing gear. They do however turn it upside down in Australia.

Dear people who have the steering wheels on the wrong side:
My driving instructor taught me that, he was a former police driving instructor.I try and do this.
My driving instructor taught me that, he was a former police driving instructor.
Still do it.
No, you did.![]()
It's called the "right" side because it is.
TreedFamineIt's called the "right" side because it is.
Fat postmen and women don't count, because they are to lazy to get out of the vehicle.![]()
But since you guys drive on the Devil's side of the road, doesn't that make the left side the right side? Then for us the right side is the right side.
And then if you take the average of that, everybody should be driving McLaren F1's and then there will finally be peace.
Everybody is wrong about everything!![]()
Dear people who have the steering wheels on the wrong side:
They don't turn the gearbox and engine round for you.

In Europe, which side of the postal vehicle is the steering wheel? Is it the left side or "right" side?
Thanks.Good one!
The right side. We don't drive on the wrong side or sit on the wrong side - or eat that many burgers - so our drivers aren't permanently baffled and our posties are safe to step into live traffic.
Only the USPS is advanced and progressive enough to* have adopted the correct driving position.
*It's with good reason that the following similes exists: "As advanced as the USPS."; "As forward-thinking as the USPS."
Wait, what?
It's strange that the mods and admins complain about off topic this and search button that but on someone else's thread they don't seem to care!
Quick question to the people who have steering wheels on the wrong side (rhd).
Is the first gear away from you, or towards you?
Remember the question though...
Nope, there is a right way and several wrong ways. daan quoted the right way.
Oddly, I was talking to him about it a couple of years ago (can't remember why) and showed him the technique and he said he'd seen it somewhere before. The guy he quoted in that post - Reg Local - is the guy who told me. In a pub in Northamptonshire. Small world.
Ahhh, you see... we don't have mailboxes. Posties do it on foot and call at every house on their round, to shove letters through the front door.
Australian Post Office does it best.I am actually quite surprised to hear that the postal drive is also on the right side in Europe. Which is the opposite side of where the mailbox would be to the driver.
disinfectedYou are obviously a bit lost on how forums work. Chill out and have some fun.
On another note, did you really think a thread called How do you hold your "stick" wasn't going to have the potential to go off topic. Let's be honest.
astrosdude91I really do find it annoying when someone throws a fit when their thread doesn't go 100% like they envisioned.
squirlybmxThe amount of "That's What She Said" that is possible with this thread is insane.
