Every time I log on to gt planet I see people posting 1/4 times, which is great. But I wanted to know what method everyone uses to launch. Because the launch trick can make to you 0.010-0.035+ faster. I personally rev before the screen pops up so I can get consistent runs, and when you guys post times I try to tune to beat your times. So if your using the trick (and I know launching at a certain rpm is key for good launch but you cant do it consistently EVERY time) or not I would like to know. Thanks for your time!

This technique has been there since the beginning.

I figured it out in GT4 and have used it ever since.
And I've used it to break some old GT3 , GT2 and GT1 records.

MadMax

This.

I used to do the 400 & 1000mtr on GT1 and GT2 and then post our best times to a leaderboard.

Best example I could find where I'm listed:

Allow time for the page to load:

It's certainly not a glitch, it's part of the game, and your launch technique is the key to success in serious competition . Many hours alone is spent on setting up the perfect launch. More hours than I care to think about to be honest. :yuck:

This IS NOT a "trick" its the way its done.

I wait until the 1 just fades then I floor it it more often then not I get the launch I want..

So at indy do you hold revs steady or floor it. I personally use different methods at indy depending on the car. Holding steady helps my gtr's, but does nothing for my enzo.

In real life you would just lean on the converter (for auto) or rev to what is best for take off (for manual). In the game, I just bounce off of the rev limited because I don't really think it makes a difference in gt5. If I'm wrong, tell me, but I don't think it makes a difference in gt5.

I know its not a "trick". But my arguement is that not everyone uses the same method. I found out long ago launching at a certain rpm vastly helps 1/4 times. But say someone runs 9.000 flat with full rpm, and I also run a 9.000 with same car using the launch method who is faster? The guy using the full rpm launch is faster because he is not even using the launch method, and if he did use it he would be faster. So my point is that we should all use the same methods to standardize our run times.

And I apreciate all the tips you guys (matt and ptk) have given.

I agree, and I will always used the best time to get the best times, so that tells me that the people not using the correct method need to get the with the times.

No matter what method they use if they both go 9.00 doesn't that make them equal..haha just messing with you..I just hold it down and go baby go

It almost seperates people like reaction times. I think part of earning a fast time is being able to manipulate how well you launch.

Not really.

Try it long enough and you'll have a good launch. Actually one of the easiest things.

For you and me, but not everyone, just like some people it's easy to get a good tree, but not others.
