How do you remove scratches from a screen?

How would you go about removing scratches from a screen like a mobile phone screen made from plastic.
I got some scratch remover for my car and tried it on the mobile but it didnt do anything, Ive also checked on the internet and a lot of people are saying toothpaste is a good method.
Anyone tried anything else that has actually worked for you at removing scrathces?
 
Scratch remover for a car is generally gonna work on the top layer of the finish, which may just be wax, may be clearcoat. It may not be a remover, but a filler, and not applicable to plastic.

I've used toothpaste as a polish for model paints, but not on bare plastic.

Getting the scratches out of a plastic screen might take some serious polishing, and you'll probably find it not worthwhile to try.
 
You'd have to practically shave the entire surface off, the thickness of the slice being equal to the depth of the deepest scratch. And the polish like a madman to get it look good. It would be easier, probably even quite cheap, to get the screen replaced if the case is a bad one and you want to keep the phone.
 
Try Brasso. Or there's a product for plastic rear windows of soft topped cars, not sure what it's called.

Or Silvo. I don't think it's as harsh as Brasso.

But a good call. At school we made these plastic sculptures from raw pastic.

hacksaw -> files -> sandpapers -> brasso

Flawless finish in the end. 👍
 
after that grabe some clear plastic/rubber/latex substance and apply it to your screen for futher protection
 
If you don't have any of the above, you can rub a banana slice around on it, rub it with the banana peel, then rub the rest off with a tissue.

I tried it on my PSP, which suddenly got seriously scratched one day, and I think it worked quite well.
 
I tried brasso, toothpaste and the car scratch remover on the phone case.
The worst was the toothpaste and I found exaggerated the scratches even after cleaning! The brasso didnt do anything and the scratch remover improved the finish but not significantly.
Ive decided to get a new fasica from ebay and replace the worn screen and case instead as ive got the tools to open the phone from another repair and also some opening instructions I found on the interwebz :)
The only thing I think that would get rid of the scratches is a buffer wheel with plenty of polish and time.
