How do you use nitrous?

Pardon me if I'm asking a stupid question, but I couldn't find it in the manual, or in the control setup for the game. I installed nitrous on my 88 supra, and it's equipped, but I don't know how to activate it, or if once you use it, it's gone till you buy more, or it refills every race?

All help is appreciated, I looked through the big GT4 info post and didn't see it there either.

it refills every race.....thats why it costs 5000 dollars. filling up a bottle only costs like 30 dollars in real life but would be a hassle in a game. everyone's gonna tell u not to use it anyway. however, in real life, im not a fan of N20 but its on every car i own in the game so far. u dont have to use it but its nice to have. nothing like chirping ur tires at around 90 mph (i know a lot of cars can do that regardless).

Press square, triangle, up, up, left, tap your head twice and clap 3 times

cuz my life exists outside of the internet. entertaining people (or trying to) on a computer seems pointless to me.

R2 on the dfp.

in before the lock....this thread needs closing.

Well, although the question is meant in a different way.... I don't use it at all... I don't like it so much, it is a rare tuning measure for normal cars, normal race cars;
Normally it is only used in drag racing, and that is nor what Gt is about.....

Actually, in CHAMPCAR last year that had a nitrousy type of button on their steering wheel, except instead of nitrous it gave them about 150hp of extra turbo boost.

Well, the MCR R34 also has that kind of feature, but as you said, it is not NOS(and we are talking about that, right?).... i have nor problem with the fact that they put NOS in, but I wouldn't miss it either.

PLEASE HELP ME!!!! i bought NOS and i push R1 during races but nothing happens........also, there is no nos bar on my screen when i race

are you sure you installed the NOS?

In response to previous comments, the installation of NOS in my '97 Civic type-r has helped me to win many races, when used efficiently.

so if entertaining people on a computer seems pointless to you, then what's that to say of you, who is insulting people on the internet?

I installed it on my car, but, just like the other person, theres no indicator for it on my screen when I rac,e and when I hit R1, nothing happens. it's definitiely equipped though.

The car is a 88 Supra 3.0GT Turbo, with a stage 2 turbo charger installed, as well as the other usual racing and lightening done.

GLITCH'd.

Don't know why it isnt working...

OK, heres everyones problem.

you buy the nitro expecting some super NFSU type surge of power, so first go to the options before a race and turn up the nitro power to 70, so you get maximum power but not many uses. The small red bar on the lower left part of your screen is the nitro meter and will decrease the more you use it.

I notice a tiny bit of improvement but I am glad becuase this is a racing game not a ricers game.

I hope this helped.

Also, if you press R1, nothing will happen, you have to hold it down.
Its an injection, not an actual boost.

Also of those of you who dont read the texts in the game, its not gonna do an incredible amount on the straights, yes you will go faster, but the best use IMO is using coming out of a turn and getting yourself up to 50 - 70 (depending on turn speed) and then using your cars normal power on the straights themselves.

Have fun..

Yes... I just use it to get my RPMs up to where my turbo kicks in :)
