Do I turn on / off damage? If I run straight into a wall, what happens to my car??? What if I touched the wall, what happens??

Offline? Nothing. The car will have some dents and scratches, but the car itself will drive like nothing happened. No mechanical damage.

Online, it depends on what setting the room is. Weak damage=damage, but it will fix itself slowly. Strong damage=car will drift to one side, engine might be performing worse, and you can only fix it by going to the pits.

Arcade mode?
You can toggle damage in the settings menu.

Collisions will cause steering to screw up, engines to fail, transmissions to delay and such.

I don't think it affects the career mode at all.

As for visual damage, it's on all the time and it's not very good.

Thank you. So I can drive like an idiot, as long as it is ofline?
Struggling a bit to learn how to ride in gt6...

Pretty much yes. But I would reccomend to try and drive as clean as possible, so you get to learn how cars feel and work, and so you can be as clean as you can online as well.

Yeah, the only thing that peeves me with car damage is when I go around a track and I try to get a good picture on a certain part of the course, but of course I will accidentally have scraped or bumped my car so it looks like rustbucket in photo mode.
