How does PD produce these graphics?

dark_ruffo: How did you do that trick or was it a bug in the game?
 
I don't know if we can call it a bug, but back in the Prologue Demo, if you paused the game when the race just began, the cars weren't fully drawn.

I haven't tried it in the full release tho.

I hope what I just said makes sense, I had a hard time trying to figure out how to explain it LOL
 
Has anyone noticed that opponents cars a flat in the distance. Like when you zoom in on your car at the start of the race you might be able to catch a bit of the car infront or behind out of focus..... they are just flat images! :scared:

When you get closer more detail is slowly added and then you get the full show when up and close.

I think the secret is that PD put way more effort into it than most other studios...

That's called LOD or Level of Detail. It happened in GT4 and GT3 also.

It is very visible at Suzuka at a certain replay view in the beginning of the long straight.
