I haven't had the time yet to do the 24hr races, but i was wondering (if you won) how far ahead of the 2nd place guy you were (how much time/how many laps). Which race was it? Also what kind of a car did you use to complete this race. I have the four "Black Beauties" and i was hoping to use the GT-One from the group (seems to be the best one out of the four). I just wanted to know if the 24hr races were hard as well as requiring much endurance (either in a-spec or in b-spec having to "babysit" the PS2)

In the nurburgring 24hr race im using the AMG Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR Race Car '98 and im 16hrs and 11mins into it and i am on my 143rd lap and im 9 laps ahead of second and im holding under 7mins a lap

I used the BMW M3 GTR for the Nurb 24h, b-spec won by 8 laps over the 190E in second place, pitted every 5-6 laps. B-spec made 7min 15sec laps, I was doing around 7min flat (I only drove 15 laps). I didn't need to "babysit" the PS2 at all, B-spec just strolled off into the distance once I handed him the controlls.

The GT-One should have no problems winning, considering the competion (mostly touring cars).

Used the Minolta 88C at the ring - finished 45 laps up.

Unless you intend to A-Spec races like that you might as well obliterate the competition to make sure of the win...

In the Nurburgring 24 hour race, I B-specced and used the Minolta and won by more than 30 laps. For the tires, I used hards in the front and super-hards in the rear, and pitstops were every 3 laps. And then the next thing I know is that I'm speeding around in my orange F1 car. 👍

i used the Ford GT LM model with the gran turismo decals ( the one that you win for the Gran Turismo World Championship) Won by 18 laps infront of M3 GTR Race Car, Used SRH tires, A-spec'd one lap, couldnt be bothered!

Oh yeah just thought id mention, completed mission 34 last night! that was soooo hard! Well maybe a better word would be Challenging

I used the 89 Nissan... I forget the sponsor. Don't think it was the Minolta one. It's been a while since I fired up the game... It's blue and white.

Anyway, B-Specced all but 2 laps, and won it by 17 laps. The car is massively overpowered for that race, but I figure if you want to win, may as well crush the buggers...

I used my fully tuned Minolta (hard in front, superhard on the rear wheels) on the Nurb 24hr. I was 24 laps in front of an M3 GTR in 2nd, and 48 laps in front of the 6th car, a Honda Spoon S2000. Was averaging just under 7 minutes, and got about 231 laps in.

And the F1 rocks!

I'm about 10 A-spec hours in on the ring 24 hrs with a MB Touring car. I get about a lap up on the Audi Tour Car in 30 laps or so. But I wind up getting bored and start playing around. After 40 laps I just sat by the side of the road for 10 minutes to let the 2,3,& 4 cars pass me so I could run them down again. Around 60 laps I purposely ran out of gas to see what happens (50 mph makes the long straight seem REALLY long!). So at 75 laps I'm about 3-4 minutes ahead but could be a couple laps. I'm doing the 24 hours in pieces, not all at once, BTW. So far 10 hours over two days. Probably finish in a week or so real time.

b-spec'd a fully tuned jaguar xjr-9 race car on H or SH (cant remember which)
averaging i think 6.20.000-ish
fook know how many laps wasnt there when it finished! :dopey:
think probably 230-270

think the ps2 must've been on for bout 15 (real time) hours at least

In the Sarthe I 24-Hour I was about 7 laps ahead when I finished (IIRC), and i'm 2 laps ahead on Sarthe II with 16 hours to go.

haha, this is kind of funny now. i put this thread in about a month ago or something like that and i kept checking but it never showed up so i figured the admins thought i was a retard or something so i just went for it. i won easily with the gt-one but i dont know by how much because i was out when it finished. i know i was at least 30 laps ahead because i saw it at 7 or 8 laps before i left and that was about 6 hours into the race. i also had time to win the other two 24 hour races (in a row without turning off the ps2, plus it played through the majority of these races at normal speed since i wasnt around for most of the races, which proves that the slim ps2 and probably the bigger ps2 can stay on and active for at least 48 hours. i even did other small races before i finally turned it off. :D 👍 ) now im at 71.1% of the way complete with over 10,000,000 credits and pretty much all of the hot cars of the game. so thanks for the replies anyways, and keep them coming i wanna hear how far ahead all of you finished by. :)

I just finished the Nurb 24 hour with the Minolta with standard setup. I did the first lap to get Bob out front and then left him to it. He has about 6000 points last time I looked and won by 26 laps from the M3 race car. I wanted the f1 bad so I wasn't taking any chances grind into the dust I reckon.

Im currently doing Circuit de le Sarthe II 24hr.... I am 75 Laps into it, done 10 pit stops and i am 1.5minutes ahead of second place. Using a Minolta 88-CV aswell. SH and RH tyres.

Finished the race 25 laps up for Nurburgring 24 Hour in a Pesky C60. the opposition does 192 laps at a rate of 7.5 minutes per lap, or eight laps an hour. I did nine in the Pesky, all a-spec. Read my report in writeups, titled Nurb 24 hour a-spec report.

I B-spec-ed most of it.

My first thought on seeing that picture is "MAN did that Ford get owned!"

Hell of a race I should think. I got that close on the El Capitan endurance. Basically it came down to the AI having one more fuel stop. Had they not had to pit, I'd have lost.

Using a XJR-9 at the Ring, I was 23 laps ahead of a M3 GTR. B-Spec'd 95% of it..👍

I B-Spec'd the ring, and was 22 Laps ahead of 2nd place, and 43 laps ahead of last place. The Sarthe one was a lil tougher I suppose, after B-Spec'n both of them, I was only 3-5 laps ahead of 2nd place, and I think around 20 laps head of last place.

i b-speced the ring, was finally up by two laps only 2 or 3 laps from the finish, using the FTO LM. I was pitting every 5 laps, and running mostly on speed 1 or 2 to conserve fuel and tire wear.

Is your FTO stock or modded? If modded, what you add? Stage 2/3 turbo?

Nurburgring - B-spec (set on 3 - steady), Mercedes CLK Touring Car, super-hard (R1) racing tires front & rear, stage 3 NA tuning, auto transmission set at 16 instead of default 14:

ABT Audi TT-R Touring Car - 7 laps down
Opel Calibra Touring Car - 11 laps down
AMG Mercedes 190E Touring Car - 13 laps down
ASL ARTA Garalya (JGTC) - 17 laps down
Spoon S2000 Race Car - 32 laps down

I've just played the n'ring in b-spec the first 20h on #2 and orvertake... 97 pits;

- 15 laps

the last 4h on 1 to pit less and keep them!

ps- with minolta!
