How fast did you post to get to 500, or a user title?

Another poll, but this came to mind as well...

How quickly did you post to get a user title, or to 500 posts? During your stay, did you blitz for the title, or did you take it easy, and it sort of appeared? I personally made haste for it, and I got to 500 posts in 79 days. Only 2 were really good, however.

[Note:] If this question isn't clear, I CAN specify, just ask.

It took me about 5 months. When I realised I was quite close to geting 500 posts, I started posting a load of rubbish trying to get there. Then when I did, I realised I hadn't been a member for long enough to get a customizable user title!

theres 4 poll options and they are all related to longer time spans.

I'm pretty sure i got it quickly; back then we had the HMRCWG thread, though. :D

uhh yeah.....doesn't make sense to me
But still, i think i got mine within 3-4 months. Can't remember when exactly.....

Wow, even I am appalled by my own poll now!

So, I guess the first option is getting to 500 posts in 70-89 days, the second option is getting 500 posts from 90-120 days, the third is 121+ days, and the last option is for those users without a custom user title, even after a long membership in GTPlanet.

Anything I missed?

At first I was taking it slow, then when I found out about the 500 points requirement I started posting useless crap, this eventually rewarded me with an infraction, after that I slowed down and only posted when I needed to.

Really? We hadn't noticed.

Also known as postwhoring, I'm not sure why people are so hellbent on getting the custom user title.

<<I didn't really care about the user title, so I probably took it slow...real slow.

Well, I mean they were acceptable, but they weren't +REP material. My recent rep before the system got shut down entirely was only 2 posts, and 5 more were neutral. Post-whoring was out of the question. And, I know no one noticed. I wasn't bragging, but it happened.

That was sobering, and even deflating, but sort of good to know.

Oh wow.....and i thought i was bad..... :indiff:
Well of course the first thing i tried to avoid was post whoring, tried to get involve in lots of activities (at first it was just the Drift forum, then the GT4 photo gallery and Photo comp, then the TT gallery, somehow i wondered off into the Formula 1 forum, got mixed in a little in the car forum, and somehow ended up at the digital arts help and artistic comp forum :dunce:) I did get into a little trouble with racerx510 (at that time CNG) and also had a close call with some mods about something.....:nervous:

How i'm still lucky not to get banned yet, but at least i did better than TuneRVisoN did :sly:

I got into trouble for acting like a moderator, I received AS fire (anti-superberkut fire) on my posting quality, and I got flamed and abused (names available upon request, but not really). Help.

Somehow, I'm not banned, and it will forever haunt me...

Remember, I'm not complaining, I'm just possessed by this question.

It didn't take me long iirc. That said, getting to 500 posts wasn't a benchmark for me, I had a few thousand posts before I ever changed my user title. I can't remember if I changed it when I started using a TVR logo as my avater or if I had a different custom title before that, I don't think I did but I'm not sure. If I didn't, then I had the Carmella avater upto about 9000 posts.

HMRCWG = How Many Replies Can We Get thread. It was a thread that was just random. It's been decommissioned for some time now.

That's interesting. The 'Any Pros on GT2?' thread was a bit like that then...

I took it a bit shyly. I joined in early September a year ago and I think I realized what was going on about December when I had around 200 posts. I probably had my 500 by February. I remember watching my post count slowly climb and being all happy about it.

Now I'm at 2114.

Post count isn't important to me, nope, not at all. Just 1834 to the big 25k .

Tbh, post count isn't important to me, the fact I have so many posts is just a side effect of the fact I like this site so much and like to contribute to it. Though I don't post nearly as much these days as I did in the build up to GT4, that's what really got my count climbing, I loved speculating and discussing what to expect in GT4 before it was released.

I don't think it took me very long. I don't even use it anymore.

For a while I've been thinking of making a thread of how to get 100 posts as soon as possible but I haven't gotten around to it.

Exactly the same as me. Except im on 2134. I remember i started posting a huge rant/ing in the NFS forums, then i slowly migrated to the Digital Art forum + Rumble Strip.

Some time now should probably be a couple years now. :p

You big whore, you. :sly:

As for the question, I probably reached 500 posts much faster than what was really necessary. I forget if the Convo. forum ever counted towards Post Count or if it didn't. I'm leaning towards the latter.

I dont even know how many posts I have...

EDIT: Ah, 522, guess it took a while
EDIT2: Hehe, Im an unregistered user, Im like an illegal immigrant!!

i am still working for it, i have been a member for nearly 5 months now. i am currently at 186 posts. i could make crap posts and get to 500 quickly, but i would rather make good posts and take my time. sometimes i come here just to read what people have posted, i don't post everytime i sign in.
